EVENT 2 VQ AutoX Championship @ Mineral Wells 3/20

Event #2 at Mineral Wells March 20, See MAP for directions.
Register Here! Clubregistration.net Pre-registration is required.
Sign in -> Search for Events -> Select Club “Maverick Region PCA” -> Search -> 2011 Autocross #1 (3/19/11), View Details & Register -> Register -> Pay 30$
Don’t worry too much about the pop quiz on the Event Fee screen; just fill it out best you can.
PCA does not follow SCCA class rules. You will be put in a base class and given “points” based on modifications. See here to “score” your car. I’d bring the form with you. The PCA Autocross chair will provide us with a car class. I’ll post it as soon as I’m informed.
Also, they have a tech form. It is not mandatory to complete but you can do a pre-check if you wish. HERE.
Come ready for 8-12 runs. They have a small group with a lot of seat time.

Most clubs have loaners that'll cost you a couple bucks for a reusable head sock. I'm checking with PCA if they have loaners now.

Check Craigslist in the Motorcyycle section.....lots of cheap helmuts for sale in that section. I got both of mine for $ 40 each.

Awesome! didn't think about CL, shitty news, but kinda ok, 3rd gear has the ugly grind... I have a spare CD009 tranny in my closet but it is missing the shifter mounting bracket and Shift Fork, it drives fine when not pushing it, but I can't shift fast with it the way it is... I may show up and baby the 3rd gear shifts.

Good catch. I'm verifying this with the club. They are doing a time trial the same weekend which would probably be fun but I think we want the autocross.

Look forward to seeing another Z out there ! Where did you come from all of a sudden ? just curious.
We have a small group that hang out and bring some " Pot-Luck " lunch items so we can hang & relax during the short 1 hr lunch period. This way we get to just eat and talk instead of have to leave to get food. Believe me...much better and much more relaxing !
If there are a few of us that are going from the Dallas area...we should meet up and drive out there together. So let me know.
I haven't signed up yet because I need to figure a few things out before I commit. But I will give it a 80% chance !

I am planning on attending this! I have family coming into town around that time but not sure if they will be in by Sunday or not. Should be finding out details soon and then I will sign up so I can't make excuses

Their time trails are a lot of fun, too. If you can make it a two-event weekend, then attend both.
Time trials use a much faster and open course where you are in third and fourth gears, similar to an actual road course. You get about 30 minutes in the AM to drive the course at 1/2 speed to get used to it. There is no walking the course.
For your runs, you will get a single warm up lap followed by three hot laps that you do not stop. Your get back in line and do three again. After lunch, they usually have just a single run of four hot laps.
Here are diagrams of the courses that they use for time trials:
