Default Might lose license... Help please!

O.K. - What a morning... I wasn't even racing!

I pull out of my hotel at 1221 E. College Ave. and I'm pulled over by 1321 E. College Ave. (not even 1/8th mile) for apparently driving past a bus (going the opposite direction) with his STOP sign and red flashers out. Note this is a 5 lane highway with turning lane in the middle... No barrier, just a turning lane.

I never saw the bus. I don't know if the bus even exists. Anyway, in short I got a 350$ fine and PA will assess 5 Points and 60 day license loss for this infraction if you plead guilty. Note I already have 10 pts. and would lose my license anyway for 2 more.

Time for a traffic attorney? I have no clue what to do b/c I can't prove the bus wasn't there. I've checked bus schedules and it doesn't appear a bus should be there at that time, travelling in that direction, but there are some stops nearby with times close to the one noted on the ticket, so it might be a tough sell.

definitely time for a traffic attorney... flipping the stop sign out on a 5-laner is pretty ludicrous if you ask me... roads that size have crosswalks (thus defeating the whole purpose of the flipping stop sign which was to protect kids crossing right infront of / behind the bus)

at any rate, good luck!

Ask someone in maryland can you use their address and get maryland liscense for a year or two until it all clears up in Pa. That mean you have to change your tag and insuranse to MD.

^ Not a terrible idea as I have buddies in Hagerstown, but... seems like a pain to avoid a $350 ticket.

So it's 2 lanes in each direction and an island for turning? That seems a bit sketchy for a school bus to expect you to stop on the other side of the road. I'd get an attorney and fight it since you'd otherwise lose your license.

Turning lane in the middle, yes...

In pa, unless there is a physical concrete, metal, or otherwise barrier you are expected to stop on the other side of the turn lane.

Ridiculous I knowm but I've seen the light now. You won't get out of anything being 22 and in a Z. 15 pts. accumulated after this ticket hits in 1 year...

I'm selling it, buying a cheaper car that is still moddable (GTI, Prelude, who knows) and I'll save on gas, insurance, and payments.
