How does 8am on Thursday sound to everyone? We'll get there around 4-5pm.

Also, some 300ZX guys are leaving on Thursday as well. If they are leaving at the same time, anyone have objections with joining their caravan?

I've never bought 2 way radios for any car event, but I doubt we'll have cell coverage. Might be a good/safe idea to have one.

I can't leave untill mid-afternoon so I'll see you guys down there.

 

2 ways definetly come in handy. I plan on bringing a set. Im okay with 8 am Thursday Jester and meeting the other caravan is fine as well.

 

8am - sounds good, 300z's sounds good too and 2-ways if I don't forget them. They should come in handy in case someone forgets to go before we leave, or leaves before we go...

Okay guys tommorrow is the big day...Zdayz has finally arrived.
We will be meeting tommorrow morning at 8 am at the McDonalds in Manassas just off of 234, exit 47A.

I dont know how many people on the original list will still be going?
I went last year but I dont have directions, I was hopeing that Kelly would help us organize but I have heard rumors that he will not be going..is this correct Kelly?

Anyways, If he doesnt come maybe someone can take care of handeling the directions, I dont have navi.

It's true that I'm not coming. I really wanted to go to this years ZDayZ, but the extra miles, the wear on the car, and the possibility of breaking something don't support my efforts to preserve the Z for its' new owner. So, I'm going to sit this one out.

If all goes as planned, in about 2 weeks this car will be rolling off of a closed transport truck in front of my house:

I've wanted one for the last 10 years, and for lots of reasons, this was the right time to go for it.


As for directions to the meeting point in Manassas, here is the directions from last years' organizational post:

Take Rte 66W, and exit at exit 47A. (234 Business). At the second light, turn left onto ***** Ford Road. there is a McDonalds just after the turn. This McDonalds is about 1 minute from 66 West, so it should be an ideal meeting spot.

Guys..... I have bad news.... When I went to get my car there was a problem with the brakes...
I am currently waiting for an overnight package to arrive from Stillen and then I hope to have the brakes fixed in a hour and be on the road...

BUT I have no idea when the parts will arrive Thursday morning... I can not join the caravan So, I can not provide directions or the use of my navi....

But if someone really wants an extra 2 way, and lives in the Ashburn, Cascades, Sterling area you can swing by and take the ones I just bought last night for your caravan.

Give me a call at 571.274.8681 if you want to swing by, I live off Sterling Blvd not too far from Route 28 (down the street from Craven Tire & Auto).

Sorry to disappoint, but this is a major safety issue I need to address before I can take the car on such a long trip.
