Anyone with a Z in Northern Virginia??
I am looking to buy a Z and I am in NOVA. The dealers around here are total A&^holes! I have called around, most do not have them, and those that do have some are saying they won't let anyone testdrive. I have not yet seen one close up, but would like to, without the hassle of visiting a dealer. Is there anyone in NOVA who would be willing to show off their car to me?? Or if anyone up here has any suggestions as to where to go, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks.
Also, if you know of anyone looking to buy a Lexus IS300, I have one I will be selling in order to get a Z. 2002 black, 9500 miles, auto.

Yes, I have a Z in NoVa.
I'd be willing to hook up with you.
2 options, join us at Killroys off of Braddock Rd for our Z car club meeting on Feb 12th. Or we can setup a meet at a public location like Sprintfield Mall.
Our Z club has about 8-9 350z and depending on the weather we usually have 2-3 show up. For info: www.zcarclubnova.org
Or PM me and we can setup something.

Hey everyone, we've setup an impromptu meeting at the Silver Diner parking lot at Springfield Mall, Sunday Feb 2 at 3pm. It's short notice, but any other Z'ers out there are welcome to stop by. Expecially any Pikes Peak White (aka Bigfoot) which no one has seen yet.
Nothing as fancy as the Columbia meet... man that was a blast.

That sounds like fun..hopefully the brickyard base model won't be so filthy.
If the weather would cooperate for just a day or two the Z just might stay clean for a nanosecond.

Howdy,
I also have been seriously considering buying a Z. Its like love at first site... I cant stop thinking about this car
Anyways, I just spent today going around to 4 different dealers. The guys at Sheehy Nissan in Manassas are complete bastages! I stopped in after work two days ago in my suit/tie and explored the Z in the showroom. One salesman introduces himself as the "Z" guy, and then pretty much left me alone, which was cool.
Then, the next day after work, I stop in wearing my hospital scrubs, and the guy treats me like I am some kid who needs his daddy to buy the car for him. I try to tell him about this forum and ask about some of the issues raised here, and he tells me he has no interest in hearing "any negativity since it doesnt help me sell cars..." He essentially tells me I am wasting his time; so I apologize for doing so and head back over to the Z to finish checking it out and exploring the interior/exterior.
Next, I get hovered over by the sales manager who is about 6'2 & 280. His subtle attempts to be physically intimidating were rather obvious. After I ask many questions about the car, he finally seems to get that I am serious about buying and I ask to come bakc today for a test drive. He introduces me to a different salesman who is a kid of about 21 or so, and says that I can talk to him about getting a drive.
So, I head there today after doing some work at the hospital, and he tells me that I can't drive it because the roads are wet, but I can drive any other car on the lot. Then he says I can only drive it if we negotiate a price and I am approved for financing. I tell him there is no way I will buy a car that I have never driven, and that I wont waste his time with a negotiation unless I KNOW that I enjoy the ride. He shrugs, and gives me a pile of crap about how no one wants any extra miles on thier Z when they buy it, etc... I tell him I will never do business with them and I will find a dealership that WILL let me test drive the car before I waste time in negotiation.
So, I head to Brown Nissan on Rt. 50 in Fairfax. I basically get the same message, but the sales staff and sales manager were far more professional and respectful in thier explanation. I might actually consider buying from these guys at some point.
Luckily, Ive seen a white 350z Touring Automatic at Fairfax Motors listed on Ebay which is only 3 miles from Brown. So, I stop by there. After some haggling, I *finally* get them to let me test drive the car, although its only in 25 MPH and 45 MPH roads. Unfortunately, they wont go below 1k over MSRP, so I walk.
Inbetween the last two dealers, my girlfriend convinces me to stop and check out the Acura RSX-S over at Pohanka. By far, they were the best of the dealers to deal with today unfortunately. Too bad I couldnt get the same customer service at one of the Nissan dealers.
I am blown away by all these guys who are in the biz of SELLING cars who refuse to let people DRIVE the car before buying it. Its too bad the RSX cant hold a candle to the performance of the Z, or else I would have VERY seriously considered buying one.
Ok, that officially ends my venting.
I would be interested in hearing where you guys bought your Z's and where you think you get the best service locally.
Thanks.

I bought mine from Brown's in Fairfax from Sean Kelly. I preordered on May 11 and received the car on November 11. I paid MSRP and that is what you should pay (or less). It looks like a few of us are going to be at The Silver Diner in Springfield today at three. If you stop buy you will find a wealth of knowledge on these vehicles.
I got my at Passport Nissan of Alexandria. However, since my delivery, the sales people I really got to know well, including the General Sales Manager, have left. So, I can't really recommend them.
Cya all at 3!

Well I've been to every Nissan Dealership in NoVa and Sheehy Manassas were the best by far. Kind, considerate, knowledgable, and selling $200 under MSRP. In fact my original silverstone enthusiast should be arriving any day now if thats what you're looking for.
I'm not a member of the club, but I may stop by on the 12th and you can check out what I did with my audio/video setup at tweeter.

Blade,
I got mine at Sheehy also. The sales manager Craig was our salesman when we ordered in Jan. Now he's the manager. From what I understand, Sheehy is suppose to be one of the better dealers in the area. I've never much cared for car dealers personally, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get the Z.
When we took delivery everyone was sooo excited about the Z's. Guess the novelty has warn off? Now it's about the $$$.
hokie350,
Hope to see you there on the 12th. We usually have 2-3 visitors at the meets these days. I'd be interested in seeing your setup. I've got the touring with the "downgraded blows". When I get my bonus in March, that sucker is outta there...
