good idea, MIR is crazy sticky when its warm out. I was standing right beside my bro when he twisted and snapped his axle. It was an F'd up sight, the car was staying in the same spot and he just kept trying to floor it, lol. The guy from the service department at Nissan said his axle was completley twisted..
so, never stage your rpms at 5grand and drop the clutch on radials.

Bert, new news man... so far Bob got his axles replaced, and his tranny... Now his clutch is slipping!! HAAHAHHAHAH, it's a lemon!!! or he's a lemon.

Hes a lemon. Tranny isnt his fault, but the axle and the driving habits cause premature clutch slippage. He hasnt been trying to powershift has he? You know my clutch lasted me 53K miles of powershifting, 6000rpm launches on slicks everything I threw at it before I replaced it, it never 1X slipped

I would check that very carefully. I am under the impression that the OEM 17" wheels do not clear the brembo calipers.

17's DO fit over Brembo's Ive seen it done. You dont have to worry about launching if you do it correctly. 8/10 its not the rubber that breaks axles its the driver.

I don't know if my Z will break the 13's. I have some mods, and I have not been able to break 13's. I have only been to the track twice and both times I got 2 runs, and the best I got was a 14.2 - Stock, with the mods, I was not even able to break a 14.3 I know I am not a great Driver, but I need to work on my launch. Just no clue how to launch the car to break 13's.
At least I fiigured out my schedule, and I will be there. Hopefully you guys will be able to help me out and teach me some good launching techniques. I really want to break the 13's and know my car is capable of it. I just hope I can do it.

With your modifications and some decent driving you should be mid 13s.. I'm sure it will take you several runs, but you have all day so no worries!! This will be my second time out to the track as well, all I have is a couple bolt ons.. I'm right there with you man, my goal is 13.3.. I'm not a great driver either, but having all day to practice, and having a little help from my "Secret Weapon" I think I'll get into the low 13's =)

This is getting more exciting.

I assume that track staff will be limited. Still I hope that these are competition runs showing a winner on the time slip. And that we even get a time slip? I also considered elimination rounds with a dial-in. I don't know if you guys would want to do that. Or without a staff person in the tower is that possible?

You will do fine.

There is an advantage to round robin runs (run stage run stage). You can remember what you did a couple of minutes ago rather than having to wait a hour between runs. The disadvantage is that the motor gets hot with back-to-back racing.
