Default Will 275/40/18 rub with 1.2" drop ?

Hey guys,

Question about tire rub. My rear wheel size is 9,5 with +20 offset .The tire is BFG KDW (1st generation) 275/40/18 . The car is lowered using Eibach springs with 1,2 inch drop in the rear. Will this rub? I heard that KDW’s are wider then any other tires of the same size.

Should I have a fenders rolled or just get SPC kit and run more negative camber? I would rather deal with faster tire wear then corrosion and chipping paint.

Waiting for opinions..

You *should* be ok. I have 275/35-19's on my car with the same offset rear wheel. The 275/40/18 is .5cm wider, but it's on a 1" smaller rim. No rolling should be needed, nor should more neg. camber.

Edit: It's late and my math sucks.....Your tire would be 1.375 cm wider, not .5.....You still will probably be ok given the .5" smaller radius than my wheels. That extra .5" of vertical travel room is a LOT with these Eibach springs.

Lowered, 95% chance you will need to roll. I rubbed with only 19mm drop and a set of 9.5 +15. Once rolled I can run pretty much anything up to 305 with conservative offset 11s (and have).
