Default Need advice on offset

Ok guys another will this rub thread.

I have a brand new set of volk gt-n's with Kumho ASX tires sitting in my garage right now. The tire sizes are 245/40/18 and 275/35/18. Now the problem is the rears are 18x10 with a offsett of 18mm so i am not sure i can get away w/ this with out rubbing. I have searched this topic but it seems everyone i have seen running this setup is running a 285 width tire. Also i am going to be running Tanabe gf210 springs.

I know i can roll the fenders but since i just bought this car a week ago and would like to avoid messing the car up. So can i run these wheels in the rear w/ tanabe springs with out rolling the fenders or using a crazy a$$ negative camber.

Thanks
Chris

18x10 +18 is going to be very close with a 285 tire. My guess is it will rub especially after you get your alignment.

You might consider getting 275.

Eh, probably will clear, but make sure you're at least sort of OK with rolling the fenders.

Here's what you should do:

google for "wheel offset calculator"

use wheel offset calculator and enter these specs : width 10.5" +23 offset

now compare to your 10" wheel with +18 . It will say the new wheel retracts in by 1mm.

Mine just barely rubbed (hotchkis springs), with a 285 tire. So with a skinnier tire, and 1mm more clearance, I think you should be fine. That is my rationale, take it or leave it.

thanks for the advice. I guess i am just going to get the springs and then slap everything on and see what happens. Worst case i will have to roll my fenders which i have had done before so it really isn't THAT big of a deal.
