Default Need Advise on Replacing Brake Calipers

I feel it's finally time to change my OEM brakes and rotors (I'm a little over 70K and brakes are getting squeaky) and I'm looking at replacing with a Stoptech Stage 2 brake kit. I want to go ahead and replace the calipers also but I can't seem to find anywhere that sell regular calipers. All the places I check either sell big brake or OEM calipers. Any ides on a particular brand of caliper that will go with the Stoptech Stage 2 brake kit and where to buy? If I replace the calipers will I need to replace anything else? For those who have the Stoptech brake kit what's your experience with them? Thanks for your help.

Im confused...If you are not looking for OEM or a BBK then what other caliper choices do you have?

Huh???

Buy someone's OEM brembo's from the classifieds if you're not looking to go overboard. Stoptech stage II for the brembo's is a great match if you want a bit more out of them and would like a nice set of rotors, lines, and pads.

Just my $.02

Sorry for the confusion Dave. I don't know if I'm using the right technical terms but please bear with me and I'll try to clarify. I was searching online for replacement calipers to go with the Stoptech Stage 2 brake kit I want to get. The only calipers I found were for big break kits, but I don't need a big brake kit since I'm not going to be doing any heavy track racing . I want to replace my stock calipers with calipers that look and perform better and can fit regular brakes. Do you know where I can get them and what the average price is? Are there any brands I should consider? Thanks.

wolster -- let me try to help you out, although if you search around the brake forums on here you can pick this up (including the classifieds in the marketplace): the stage 2 kit is made to either fit your non-Brembo calipers, or your Brembo calipers (whichever you have). The calipers by themselves, if you are looking to buy them separately, are pricey. Look at the parts in the Stage 2 kit -- lines, fluid, rotors, pads. The only thing missing is the calipers. You should be able to find the Stage 2 kit for around $700 (MSRP is $800). The full BBK is around $3-6k, depending on what you're buying (brand, size, pistons, etc.). You can buy someone's OEM Brembos (full setup) for less than $2500.

In my opinion, if you're thinking about buying the stage 2 kit, and you want to upgrade your calipers, you're looking at either the option suggested by Tengai (buy someone's OEM Brembos when they upgrade to a BBK), or going all out and getting a BBK (see, for example, this Rotora thread: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....light=calipers ).

EDIT: note that the stage 2 kit is specific to what type of caliper you have, so you're going to need to decide on whether you're getting bigger calipers up front.
