i live in dumfries/manassas but i go down near ft belvoir every now and than, tell me what day and time and ill try to come help you ,plus i havent yet stripped into my Z yet so it will give me a good idea of things.
Well it will probably Saturday morning. I'm hoping I will have the car back by then. The exhaust is sitting on my floor right now, so I want to knock that out at the shop. It shouldnt take too long. I'll get there early to guarantee a lift.
After that, we can roll back to my house and try to do this install on the head unit, and if the dealer doesnt fix the wiring with my sound system, we might try that too. I'll order the dash kit and wiring harness on Monday. Either of you have experience with the audio in the Z?

I installed my headunit a few months ago and i must say, audio in a Z is cake; just make sure to get a good quality dash kit is all. i went into best buy and was going to get one there b/c i was tired of waiting on my friend back home to send me one and ended up calling the guy that worked there a dumba$$ b/c he tried selling me a "universal" kit that i could tell would never fit properly. long story short i took my business elsewhere. as for the interior trim it is very simple. once you take the screws out of the center section you grab it from the top (behind the gauges) and pull forward and it all comes out as one unit (gauge pods and all). the trim kit should then screw into the back of that with the headunit as well and it all goes in as an assembly. it takes a little patience to get it up there but a good place to put the ground wire is above/on the dash reinforcement bar that rund near where the storage compartment goes. you will see a bunch of other ground wires there, just take out the 10mm bold that holds them in, add yours and tighten it back up. very simple car to work on, just don't do what the previous owner of mine did and try and pry the trim frm the front w/ a flat head screwdriver b/c all you do is scrape it up and break $hit! haha goodluck with the install, let me know if you have any questions b/c i'm more than willing to lend a hand!
Looks like another member wants to put an exhaust on at the belvoir shop. So right now, we've got 2 exhaust installs, and a head unit install. More than likely the deck will be changed out at my house, no need for a lift for that.
Anybody else want to install anything while we're at the shop??
