Which shop To take your project to (poll for easy review)
All,
This thread, https://my350z.com/forum/mid-atlantic/350056-which-shop-is-best-for-my-twin-turbo-install-functiontuned-or-aam-or.html , really should have had a poll associated with it.
So, I will ask the question again, but would encourage you to voice your opinion, and why you believe what you do.
Bashing of some shops will not be tolerated by admin, so keep it clean.
Hopefully this will be an easy 'at a glance' litmus test for new folks to be able to judge where to spend their hard earned dollars.
** This is a public Poll, so we can see if someone registers SN's just to vote for one shop... keep it clean.**

I voted AAM because they hand built my turbo kit, and I could not be any happier. Frank/Eric/Alex are above the top with knowledge and experience. And Mike/Clint/Jon/Jason/Merlyn thanks again for putting up with my sh*t and stubborn decisions!

I voted for Function Tuned, but I would also trust my Z with Forged and MRC because of their good rep amongst the Z community.
For the record: FT has installed my JWT clutch/flywheel, test pipes, Y Pipe, Brake pads, rotors, SS lines, elongated studs, and Plenum spacer. Other then the clutch/flywheel I probably could have done rest on my own, but I know FT would do a more efficient and cleaner install. Plus I like to support my local shop.

I can't really vote on this one... I have yet to use either shop and I'm the kind of person that likes to form my own opinions based on experience rather than following the crowd.
Dave from Function Tuned is very nice, and quick to give good advice without making me feel stupid... and I seem to run into him as well as the other ft'd guys at meets, Dave n busters..ect Which I like because it shows that they get out and socialize with us rather than just trying to make money and go home. I also have not heard anything bad about this shop... PLUS... he makes FANTASTIC burgers and has a very cute doggie...
The only person I know from AAM is David Wells, who i've only met one time, but he seems like a nice person as well. (Have never run into any members of this shop -at least if I have it was not memorable) I have heard bad things about this shop but from what I understand they are trying to turn it around which is definately worth giving credit for, possibly even worth giving them a shot... and I hope they are able to because it would be awesome to have 2 really great shops in our area.
I guess I would have to go to both shops and see what they each have to offer, then compare price and value and make my decision from there- it would be foolish to only give one shop the opportunity to earn my business.
... so you get no vote from me sorry.

i voted functioned for the sheer fact that dave is a cool guy and has been out and about hanging out with us. goes to meets and chills.. gives advice and talks without thinking he is better then others....
ive met frank and mike so far from altered and they care cool guys but like i said, i have been to functioned multiple times and love that place. sick shop. an tuna is gnar.
