matte black car wrap?
One thing about getting it painted flat black...hopefully its thick enought to just sand and paint....sort of like a primer...
so Going back to stock wouldnt be as hard?
does that make sense or would you need to scrub it down to bare metal?

I have done a little research on this topic and I have a local guy (who is good) that will do my Z for under 2K.
From what I understand the "clear" coat is what gives the color the flat look. Instead of shine this clear coat dulls.......and the more you clear coat the flatter it gets. That was my understanding.....could be wrong......Im kind of thick sometimes.
My point....why wrap? Just paint!!!

Everyone keeps talking about price. I'm thinking between materials, install time and 2 guys working on it you are probably looking around $1500 to $2000depending on the shop you take it to. Plus if you want it wrapped really good the headlights, tail lights and other things should be removed wrapped and then installed again.
Seriously if you love your car that much and plan on keeping it for a long time get it painted. I'm sure after all the mods people do, having it painted matt black is not that big of a deal. Plus what is the going rate on a trade in on a Z? Wouldnt you just sell it as is as a private party.

Just talked to a body shop guy up the street from me. He said the pait they use for that matt black is called hot rod black, it is a one stage paint. He said at most he would put down 2 coats of it. There is no clear or any finish that goes on after you paint it. He also recomends that you keep it in a garage, and wash it in the shade cause if it get a water spot they are hard to get rid of. Now for the price, $4000-$5000 depending on how much of the car you want painted.
I'm sure there are other manufactures of paint that have their own Matt Black finish that would need to be treated in certain ways.
