I got a speeding ticket today doing 51 on a 30mph road and the cop was using a radar. He said it was reckless but just going drop to failure to obey highway sign/stop sign. I calculated everything $30 for violation he wrote plus $62 processing fee total of $92. Now on the Summons he described disobey highway sign but right below he wrote 51 in 30 miles zone , can they still change the charge and give me reckless instead??

 

pay your ticket and thank God it does not say wreckless...if it doesnt say it....then its not.

100 in a 65 can be speeding...81 in a 55 can be wreckless...all up to the cop and his mood at the time of the stop. Pay it and pay it fast! Be grateful, that has never happened to me....lol

 

I'd accept the officers generosity, and pay the ticket as issued

 

no, reckless doesnt say. the note 51 in 30mph zone kinda worries me i want to know if the charge can still be changed when i make the payment and process it.

 

You have a change to go to court ... aka the summons ... they will allow you to plea out for a lesser charge or less money. 1 Pay that fine. I am a cop and I normally don't let people off with as big of ticket as that. I wrote one today for a guy getting into an accident and putting his 18wheeler into a drainage hole. You couldn't see the hole ... unless you pay close attention. 180 ticket 25 processing fee. I didn't mark and charge him for the accident which was 240 but just for inattentive driving. So consider yourself very lucky.

Ya take what he gave you and pay it especially if it does not say wreckless. I just got a 43 in a 25.

Pay it. He really did cut you a break. For that amount it is not worth missing time at work and getting pissed if you don't get a better break from the judge.

 

Also if you go to court they could fine u more if u fight it in lose.... then you have to pay court fees

at least u are not facing this serious offense like the new va speeding law where you have to pay 2 grand.

 

yeah whats the difference? Yeah im not gonna make this worst for me im paying it. I just notice this on the other form which all the violations and fine amount listed says on the side THIS FORM IS VOID AFTER June 30,08. Prepayable amounts change every July. Damn! i hope i dont have to pay more.

only yesterday. there are two forms summons yellow color and information on prepayable offenses also where the list of violations and amount listed orange color. Its the orange color thats says void after june30, 08

 

Maybe the next generation Z will have three speedometers instead of two :P
