Default Virginia Driving: flicked for 2nd Revoked

Short version... I have a friend who was in Prince William county and got pulled over. She got a ticket for speeding and a ticket for driving on a revoked license second offense. However she has a license from another state that is not revoked. Just so happens that day she didnt have her license and they pulled up some old info. Anyone know what the penalties typically include or any suggestion on a course of action for her?

I dont think she will get jail time, she will pay a hefty fine and she wont be able to drive for a few years maybe..

She sounds trashy. If you've got nothing invested in her you should move along.

Her being trashy doesn't help the situation. Thanks for the $0.02 tho it was extremely helpful. I told her that I wasn't sure what to do. Told her to get a copy of her Driving record and take it to court that day or try to get a lawyer or just say yeah judge i fcked up just don't send me to jail.

What bsurdam says is correct. Jail time for revoked license, (I'm surprised they didn't throw her in there the minute they found out it was revoked, must've been nice since she was a girl) so hire a 1k+ lawyer, tell her please don't go cheap unless she wants to spend a few weeks/months who knows who long in the crapper.

Bobbo is absolutly right - Can't pull that kinda Sh*t in Va. You'd have to be nuts to drive around in Va on a suspended license.

this is why some people should not be allwed to drive.. stupid **** like this..

instead of watching out for people that have no front tags or tint, lets focus on retards that drive around on revoked lisences!

I concur, but cops use BS like tags, tint, or something else as an excuse to pull you over and check your license. If I was driving on a suspended license, the last car I would want to be in would be something thats been modded.

I could understand if she was driving like a mad man, but I highly doubt they will give her the max sentence for driving. 90 days isn't gonna happen. No way no how. I know VA is a militant state but that would be unreasonable. I'll tell her to get a lawyer though. Anyone on here giving advise ever been charged with driving on a revoked second?

VA is notorious for jail and stating that ignorance is no excuse for the law. I'm lucky I haven't caught the d*ck yet in VA been living here for 3 yrs. The interesting this is in VA the courts are not structured for the plaintiff but for the defendant. There is a guy who broke into my car by cutting a small hole in the ragtop, stole my nav and ipod, and had the audacity to key it. This kid is a bit of a crack addict with rich parents though he pawned my s*it. Well I have the pawn reciept with his name on it. Open and shut case right? WRONG!!! Well the damages total to 5g's. This incident happened Jan 12, 08 I been to court with this kid 5 times and he keeps getting continuances for the lamest s*it. My next court date is Jan 13, 09. From what the witness protection center (the people who ensure you get compensated) he really never has to pay me just keep going back and forth to jail. Also his lawyer tried to plea bargain with me for his client to pay the deductible and get my insurance to cover it, which in tuern would make my insurance go up. Aint that a B? He's still free roaming my neighborhood with a wrap sheet from here to China. After he broke into my car the local PD busts him on the street for trying to sell his mothers pain meds...right after she posted his bail for him stealing my s*it. It took an act of god for my PTSD not to active and shoot this kid and say he was an Iraqi. He smiles at me from his porch daily and even has the ***** to occasionally ask me for a cigarette... I came to realize real criminals go untouch.. though if your speeding watch out you get a one way trip to jail, revoked license, a fat fine and driving school. You get completely maxed out here. Sorry had to vent real quick... 4Shzzl knows my pain.. VA+criminals=FAIL!!!

All comments are correct about the lawyering up. If noticifaction wasn't sent out though then that is a reason she didnt get put away right then and there. Also, cause she is a chick cops go easy on then.

Lawyer + Court = Good Luck

I did 3 weeks in jail a couple years ago for driving on a suspended license. When i got out, my license was suspended for 3 more months. (GF drove me back and forth to work EVERY day) ANd was on 2 years of probation whereas if i got a single ticket during that time i'd got back to jail for 5 more months!!!

VA aint no joke!!

Ironically i bought the Z after i got outta jail. And have had only one ticket since then. Spending a few weeks with "Bubba" will make you grow up real fast in terms of controling your right foot!!
