as long as I have lived in this area I have not had a genuine from philly cheesesteak so I went big and got a double meat, double onions and double cheese. It was good, i ate half there and then toasted the other half for dinner later...it was much better toasted I must say.
There is actually a really good cheesesteak source just outside of the Dover Air Force Base, it is always good and very tastey and now there is a Sonic next to it.
pats and genos are tourist places... theyre not better. Tony Lukes is soooo much better.
denno about tony luke's but +1 on the tourist spot part... on south street, Jim's is great (but, they don't have fries, just sides of chips), but my favorite is Ishkabibble's. fries on the side (like it should be), usually not a long line, delicious steaks.
and, on that note, South Street Steaks (in college park and gaithersburg) is awesome, haha. the closest you'll get to a genuine philly in this area.

I was going to post about Magerk's. They ship their rolls down from Amorosos, so it's about as real as you're gonna get. Plus they use whiz, unlike some of those around here that use provolone or american cheese.
