Oil change!!

you have to do an oil analysis sample, then send to blackstone labs (I think thats it) to truely know for sure...
mobile 10/30 is not like mobile 0/40. My N/A motor blew up after 1200 from an oil change due to oil consumption and the shaddiness of the Mobile 10/30 in my VQ.
From the many oil samples used in the VQ the Amosoil faired best for long intervals. I personally change my oil every 3K now that I have boost. But even before I ran the Pensoil Platinum 10/30 after taking the time to read that complete thread. I feel that the turbo applications add an additional element to the mix because of the oil lines and the turbos. My SC set up has no outside influence, so I can just increasing my oil frequency because my engine is not MOLESTED by turbo oil.
To each his own....if I could find the green Amsoil (German blend) I would get it. Ask Super G, he has read the oil thread, dont take my word on it... lol
good luck...
Royal Purple SUCKS TOO!

You have 12K miles on your car, and chances are you don't have a lot of mods and just use your car like normal people.... to drive to/from places.
Use CTX, pennzoil, valvoline... or any other basic oil, 5W30 or 10W30.
As far as filter goes, just run a OEM Nissan filter.
If you had a built motor, and or raced often, I'd say other wise but for basic use like 90% of the normal 350Z drivers, just use normal oil.
Do oil changes every 3K miles and you'll be set. Only real benefit for you to run a full syth oil is to try and do 5K or 7K mile oil changes.

As Corey was saying, different oils react differently in different engines. I remember seeing an internet magizine video segment on the ENEOS oil being tested for HP gains in an LS1. Worked great. I don't understand how he makes 8hp jumping from a 30w to a 50w.

The VQ on the other hand is very tough on oil, tons of burn off and break down with the ENEOS oil. Someone did an oil analysis on it and it wasn't too great.

Thanks everyone of you
I have tried again to read the "oil topic". This time, going past the headache of so much info in the first two pages It took me a few days on and off though...
And I think I am going to use any of this three depending on the price.
German Castrol 0w-30
M1 0w-40
Pensoil Platnum 5w-30.
Yes, exacly what PhiSig suggested! (so much reading for nothing LOL)
Im going to get it depending on the price since like jeffie7 said, my wife is just daily driving the car 90% of the time.
Oh, and I think I will use the M1 M110 Filter.
I intend in changing the oil every 3k, but knowing my wife, who is already around the 4.5k on the current oil... I rather use fully synthetic and bigger filter.
Its not that much of a change in price for a 3-5 month investment...
Thanks everybody

Oh, I forgot!!
I am not going to use OEM filter because I do not feel like driving to a Nissan dealer now...
BTW, how do you know which one is the GCastrol or the M1 European Formula?
Is it just because of the 0W-30 and 0W-40 grading?
Or does it say anything like: "European Recipe" or "Mediterranean Style"?
Thanks!
Oh! And where do I get it? PepBoyz? Autozone? Any other Ricer place?

I bought M1 5w-30 and did my oil change on my car yesterday. I bought it at PepBoys in Germantown. I say they had German Castrol 0w-30 (the one labels European Formula) there but they only had 3 qts left so I grabbed M1 for this oil change. Next time I try GC 0w-30.
