Add Another Z to the Busted Window Club
Yup! After 5 years of ownership almost to the day I drove it home from the dealer, my Z finally got vandalized in PG County.
It wasn't bad enough dealing with my tire/suspension issue but on top of that I had to come up off $700 bucks to replace the passenger side window.
BTW, I finally learned what was causing the car to sway L-R while driving in a straight line. Anh, said it might be bump steer but it was actually more like a bum at sears.
After having my coils/sways installed, I took my car to Sears for an alignment. Shortly after, I purchased a new set of rims/rubber [Falken 452 245/35/19, 275/35/19] and noticed a really pillowy feel sometimes or like a greasy feeling while driving. It continued to get worse and the car was almost uncontrollable in the rain or wet road conditions. I never mentioned this in my earlier rant about the Falkens but I nearly lost control of the car twice and almost hit someone next to me.
Figuring it was the tires, I had already planned to take the vehicle back to Sears and demand they do something about the tires when one of PG County's humanitarians felt the need to bust out my window and attempt to steal my nav system.
Luckily the dumbass didn't get anything [but I hope he suffered at least some glass cuts] but the cops that came said nav systems are fetching a high dollar in this economy so please make sure you guys are using something other than the factory alarm.
{sorry if this seems long, but..}
After the break in, I took my car to a local Nissan dealer [top notch service!] and they immediately called me to the back to check out an "emergency" problem with my vehicle. The lead tech asks me if I'd noticed problems driving or cornering with the car and showed me exactly why. The douchebag at Sears never properly adjusted and secured my rear camber/toe bars and they were basically left loose and spinning. He then told me I was lucky to have not A: blown a tire, or B: lost control and killed myself or someone else on the road.
He pointed out that only about 2 inches [your index and middle fingers together] of my back tires were actually making contact with the road and that both insides of the tires had worn down to the steel belts after only 2 1/2 weeks of driving.
Long story short
I got the car back together, a free set of wheels from Sears and full reimbursement from the money spent on the window.
Lesson learned, after I get these tires my baby'll never see the inside of a Sears motor bay again.

So youre even steven cash wise and +1 good driving car!!? Im glad you got your **** all fixed up man. Sorry about the window though. I still think it should be legal to electrify your cars.
ptuning alignments FTW! They'll take you back there and you can even watch em torque your toe bolts down to 75 lbs so it doesn't move all around. I can't believe you drove around w/ loose alignment bolts.. imagine your whole rear camber arm flying off on ya on the highway! I'm not driving next to you buddy, LOL
thats why I moved out of PG County. I lived in Greenbelt and they broke into my car twice and all they manage to do was to mess up my navigation the A**holes. COLUMBIA ALL DAY BABY!!!!!!

and I thought rocking rear camber like this was bad. Anything over 40 for me and the back would slide side to side like a harmonic oscillator. I can't imagine what loose camber arms would feel like. Glad to hear everything worked out.
^ you got bump steer - it's due to improper alignment specs (specifically the toe.) Cars should not rock side to side under any condition unless you're performing an inertia drift or fish-tailing into a telephone pole. Things like this should seriously get checked out before you eat your tires alive.
you are wise rice king. The rocking was due to the toe. I brought the camber back in but subsequently pushed the toe really positive. Tried to drive it to work and anything over 20mph and it was getting too squirrely. I didn't even make it a mile out before coming back.
I know we're suppose to boycott Sears, but I just wanted to get it fixed and went down the street to my local Sears. I told the customer service rep that I needed to talk to the tech and the rep's response was "leave the key in the car and we'll get right back to you." After reading this thread and others like it, I've developed some trust issues with shops like Sears. I stood next to my car until a tech came out and was told that the car wouldn't even be able to make it up on to the machine.
Whatever the case, lesson to be had. Do things right the first time. Gotta go to ptuning tomorrow.

Ok, in my and some other locals defense. Suppose I want to drive my vehicle in and have the work done on the same day and drive it back? I don't mean major work, but say like wheels/exhaust/tuning/etc...
Some of us don't have the luxury of leaving our cars with a shop for God knows how long. And honestly, if some shop had my car for over a month and still wasn't finished I'd be calling a lawyer or the BBB on someone's *** real quick like.

So, yes I did have a deductible but I wasn't planning on leaving a gaping hole open for 7 days. I'm taking it in to get looked at on Friday BTW...
I was still mad while typing and keep forgetting I didn't include all the 'extras' to the story. The GEKKO recommended a local glass shop in MD and promised that they could come out the next day and do the repair. So after speaking with them, they informed me that because the Z window is classed as a specialty item it takes 5-7 business days to order one. Rather than invite every douche bag and random squirrel in MD to just make themselves at home inside my car [and because I needed to know the deal on my swaying issue] I took the car to two dealers to get help. College Park Nissan on Rte 1 should take down their signs and just close up shop. Apparently, customer service ain't exactly a priority over there so I left and went to Tishcer Acura/Nissan off 198.
