Default How hard

is it to install a crank pulley. For an auto transmission

Did it in my auto 300ZX a few years ago and it wasnt hard at all.

In the DIY section im sure there is a how too. I doubt its too bad.

Put the socket and breaker bar on it. Then set it up so the breaker bar is on the floor at the 5 o'clock angle. Then turn the ignition but do not start the car-the point is to turn the motor to loosen the bolt. Easy job, done in 25 min including taking the splash shield off/on.

They say its tuffer for an auto... but also there is n e special tools I need?

Breaker bar and 17mm socket and its not harder with an auto. I've removed one with the engine out the car.

Why would it be tougher if the ground is acting like a stop and you're using the engines TQ to break it loose?

Now what about tightenin it also.

I read a write up sayin u have to drain a **** load of fluids and crap to move the fan to gain access to it.

LOL... no... you don't have to do that.
I had to remove the fan for more room, but I didn't drain any fluids. The hardest part for me was to remove the pulley itself, after taking out the bolt... It had so much rust, my friend and I were going crazy at it, shaking it for about 30 mins and it finally came off.
