Lawyer recommendations
Wondering if any of you Mid-Aers can recommend a good lawyer.
Someone sold me two items that arrived damaged, Fed-ex denied the claims but only sent one report to me. I sat waiting for the second report and never received it.
When I contacted them, for the second report, I was informed that both items were sent back to shipper. The guy who sold me the items has not responded to several of the last PMs I have sent. I've given him plenty of time to respond.
It was quite a bit of money and I want my money back. Since the guy has refused to communicate any further this is the only way I see to go.
Would appreciate any recommendations on lawyers you guys may have.
Thanks

Since there is a shipment involved.
How did you pay?
If you did it through credit card or paypal (or even check card in some cases) the banks and paypal could help you out.
Contact the company you pay with (amex, paypal, etc...) and tell them the problem, they should refund you the money and pursuit the other person (I think you need proof though).
I hope this helps.

Kat,
Unfortunately I paid with a money order from my credit union. They ran a check and it was already cashed immediately after the seller received it.
Thanks bsurdam. PM sent your way.
They were advertised as excellent condition. I questioned if there were "any tears or noticeable wear spots? " and was told: "The seats are in excellent constion. Nothing wrong with them @ all. No spots, rips tears or anything like that."
I have a ton of photos when I received them and before I sent them back to Fed-ex for them to see if they were going to honor the claim. I'll post a few and will post the rest later.
Here are just a few of the pics:

There was damage on both seats and luckily for me I opened the boxes up at the drop center and the attendant there witnessed the damage was there when the boxes were opened. He informed me that he is willing to state what he saw and I was given an "Ok" from his supervisor as well.
I was told by seller that I was being difficult b/c I didn't want to shoe polish the damage away.
Bottom line is that I paid the price for seats ($2000+)that were described in excellent condition and "Nothing wrong with them @ all. No spots, rips tears or anything like that." What I received was not what was advertised. Whether the damage was there prior to shipping, to me, or in transit it didn't happen due to anything I did. This is a matter between seller and shipping company. At this point I paid the cash for seats that arrived damaged, Fed-ex denied the claim (surprise!) and shipped them back NOT TO ME! So now I have nothing, not even damaged product to try and repair.
I have sent several PMs to seller with no response. No money, no seats, no response. What other options are there but to seek legal counsel?
I know it's gonna cost money but at this point I'm not going to just sit by and let this happen.

if you are as meticulous as I am, those seats are nowhere close to perfect condition.
if i buy something, i dont care if the seller shows the the damage or wear (every used item will have wear) and we negotiate the price accordingly.
but if he sold you those "as new" there is no way in hell i would pay anything close to retail or msrp, those are definetly "used" which in aftermarket terms usually means a drop of 40% in value unless they are some rare item which is very hard to find and will appreciate in value like a limited edition piece etc.
they look like seats to me, what would be the retail price if you order them brand new?
also, i think you need a lawyer. you are out the money, the seats, and the fedex. and if you have all the paperwork to back up everything, then seek legal council and keep us updated.
