Notice the crickets chirping when 2-3 ppl talk about an actual track day, but when Alberto mentions:

This falls under the category of Cruising, Food, LNR's, and most importantly... FREE! Then everyone starts chiming in!

In my observation, the Z drivers who track are not on this site. They do it within their own time. There have been many events in the past for an AutoX or a Summit Point run but it has gathered very little interest.

Because terrorizing back roads doesn't mean jack... Any John Doe can drive back roads fast...not every John Doe can properly drive a car on a track.... No offense to anyone, but that doesn't prove anything but that you can drive on a public road fast. Navigating an AutoX or Road race successfully fast vs. driving on a back road fast is wayyy different. Unless someone is willing to venture over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic. Which, is not the best decision. Plus there are no times to compare yourself against other people. Bottom line is that people that are serious about driving their cars in a controlled environment are few and far between here in the Mid-A Z forums.

Plus who doesn't want the satisfaction of beating other cars/drivers????

I agree, a controlled environment going all out = 1000x more fun, however we have 1 problem:

This platform has no $$$$

or at least, not enough ppl willing to put out money for such activities. Your average Z driver is left terrorized when presented with the idea that they might need a 2nd set of dedicated rims/tires, extra set of pads/rotors/lines, and alignments more than once every 3 years.

Anh you hit the nail right on the head.....

However, there are plenty of us that have the cash and time and "the respect" (movie pun) to put together a really nice track car. If the Z community had more Z's running out there we would be a pretty decent force to be reckoned with...ya know.

You cant argue about free fun vs track fun. Most people now a days cannot spare a few hundred bucks and if so they choose not to do it on a track.

Whats so surprising about that?

If I had $1 everytime I saw a non driver in a Z in any way shape or form Id be rich, especially in the Mid-A....it doesnt stop me from wanting to have fun and catch up with people, I dont get down on the guys who dont track in some shape or form or look up to the ones who do.
