I'd get receiver, FL, FR, RL, RR, and Center channel speakers.
I wouldn't worry about a sub until after you set everything up and feel that you still need it. My cheap sony speakers pump out more then enough bass to the point where I don't feel I need a sub.
$600-800 should be more then enough for a legit receiver and a good center/FL/FR speakers as with some ok rear speakers.

I'll have to look at the model # of my speakers I've been very happy with them. They are pretty much entry level speakers but do a kick butt job.

Clay, if anything this thread should have taught you stealing is ok. Go to youtube.com search for the song you like then just record it straight off youtube. Besides, if they were smart enough they'd record some type intro of them talking over top of the track to protect themselves.

clay just as a heads up BB will prob not be the best prices to get your stuff. DO your research there to hear setups then purchase online.
My old sony reciever and speakers are hitting hard 8 yrs later but the receiver not having HDMI is making me think I am going to upgrade to a 7.1 system for the new house.
Not much out there that is true 7.1 produced yet but I figure if I am going to make teh purchase I should get the good stuff and it wont be out dated anytime int eh near future.
I have been looking at this for my next receiver:

I like that it also has the ability to add a "zone" so I can put speakers in another room and run them to the receiver and it will play them in full stereo sound when i turn that zone on. But when I want to just use the full 5.1 or 7.1 the main speakers do that.
There are 6 million options out there for what to get and most will sound pretty good as long as its a decent setup. Most of the time you just have to set a goal and shoot for that as the end product.

I picked up a 46" samsung LED. I was going to get bigger but my rowhouse is only 13ft wide.... and thats a big one for Bmore. I cant wait until it comes in.

You want to make money on beats, whatever, you also want to be a paid street racer.
My channel now has more views than prolly yours and Jeff's combined, I dont do it for the money IMO thats gay and takes the fun out of the car scene/HOBBY. Even if I made money on YT big deal Id be able to pay my cell phone bill with, and annoy myself to death with advertisements every time I show someone a video.
A 13 second Z will not make you $$$, you listen to one guy on YT and suddenly you think anyone can make out well. Stop talking about it and do it, or stop talking about it and continue to NOT do it. Either way stp withthe whole YT = money fiasco. The $hit gets old man, you still havent changed your somewhat immature mentality on things.
