The new set-up is seriously fast man....getting more and more comfortable with the hoosiers on every run.

 

I keep thinking I have enough guts to try auto cross and then i watch Mikes videos and im completly lost the entire time. Im afraid I would be so terrible at it.

 

Those SCCA long, fast courses aren't the best for beginners. If you come out I will sit in with you and ride along. Pretty much all of the local clubs know me, and even if they don't allow passengers they will let me "instruct".

 

Is there a date coming up that may be good for a Virgin? Should I leave my stockers on or put the 19s on with wider rubber?

 

And to be honest i think id rather ride with someone else first. But i know that would mess up their run.

 

Oh and should I leave my neons in or take them out? I didnt know if it was ok to have show while at a go event. Also I have three tachometers. Which one do you recommend using

 

I am going to the mazda club event on Saturday in Bowie, but that is the one club I have never run with. After that there is only SCCA and AI events for the next several weeks. Those are very regimented with strict protocol, etc.

 

Ok I will keep checking back to the thread. If you think of a newb friendly event or whatever let me know.

 

April 23 Capital Driving Club is at Bowie. That would probably be a good first event to attend. You can ride with me prior to running.

 

What tires do you have on your OEM's?

 

continetal Extrem Contact All seasons. Stock sizes. The 19s have the summer version of the same tires 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 (I think thats what the rear is)

 

I'd run the 19's.

I wanna take my front tires to the cords before the SCCA runs. I will be getting a new "used" front set for the stock wheels in CL sometime next week.
