From Ed Chan,

OK. The field is light enought to offer the$10 Discount on Second Slot for Saturday September 10th at Hylton HS

To help increase interested in the August 6th event at Hylton HS in Woodbirdge, VA, we are offering the following special.

For anyone paying for a second slot, the second slot will be $10 off. So if you are a member the second slot for a member will only be $20. If the second slot is for a non-member the cost will be $30 (rather than $40).

The second slot can also be used the same driver (e.g. they would drive in two heats) or for a guest.

To sign up for a second slot:

1. Make a second reservation (for you or the guest)
2. Type "Second Slot" in the Notes Section (if it is for a guest, state your name - e.g. second slot guest of John Doe). You must type "Second Slot." Otherwise, we may think you mistakenly submitted duplicate reservations.

-Several people used the second slot for a guest (some that never autocrossed with CDC)
-Many participants used the second slot to get 12 runs
-Some used the second slot to be a point autocross in the 6 morning runs (since only the first 6 counted for points) then treated the afternoon as a TNT by trading cars with other two slot participants

This offer is only extended for this event at Hylton HS on Saturday September 10th, 2011.
This is for the CDC event on the 10th. You can make up to 12 runs for 50 bucks (members price).

Im probably going to join the league there. I have been going there a lot the past 3 months since the HPDE. I've qualified for the RX250 karts that go 70+ mph. Its really tough to qualify for them.

I'm having some difficulties with ride height. The front is OK, but would prefer just a bit higher (I am at 25.4 to the center of the fender). I need to get another turn or turn and a half on the collar, but with 800lb springs it is easier said than done. The rear is about .5" lower than I want, but my rear is not height adjustable. I use spring rubbers to dial in the height, but I ran out of energy and daylight to get it done today (went to the WVU Game last night.....that literally went all night). So, I am at 25.4-25.5 in the rear...which gives the appearance that it is slightly lower overall than the front. I still have just under 2 finger gap on all (4) corners with the hoosiers. I think under hard, cambered turns it will rub a bit. With that said, I am going to have it aligned tomorrow at its current height. The front should be fine, but the rear will need to be raised. Luckily re-aligning the rear is easy as pie.

The car looks pretty damn slammed on street tires, though. I don't like it.

I will be on my 255 street tires for the CDC event on Saturday...so no domination. It will be a day of trial and error with settings. I need to develop a basline on Sat and maybe Sunday with Mercedes.

I plan to run in the PRO index class wtih AI the following weekend. I will be in true BSP trim for that event, and expect the car to be VERY fast.

Had to push the alignment back until Friday, but did get the ride height where I want it. 25.3" front and 25.8" rear.

Ran on street tires this weekend. Went alright, but I still can't get used to the lack of front grip. Sadly, Sunday didn't go well....the car decided on the 3rd run it no longer liked second gear. It is still the original 001 trans from 03. I didn't have any issues coming home, but I haven't shifted in anger since it wouldn't go into second. Mercedes club does "practice" runs first. I would have had FTD over Howard in his Exige S260 on R-comps by a 1/2 second, but I only got one clean run before I lost second. Oh well.

Test fit the hoosiers with the new suspension and lower ride height last night....

Drove it around the block...holy poop. The much higher rates and re-done shocks really make the car transition hard. I think I can get away with adding a bit more rate via bumping the sway up a notch. I had dropped it down since the new spring rates are 800lbs in the front.

315's on the front might be a pipe dream...285's look like this with -3 camber:

I see you got a new seat. I know you needed one of those bad. I did some upgrades on my car Quaife LSD, Crawford Strut bar, and RS-3 tires. I think im going to the NCCA even on Saturday in Manassas to try everything out.

Well...after the long *** wait for the shocks. I am not happy. They perform alright, but already have a very slight seep from the rebound adjuster on the front drivers side. They will fix the issue, but what is the point. They have been done a couple of times now (by different people) only to leak again. In short, I am in talks with MOTON working something out that is legal for street prepared. B/w motons and the rebuilding of the Koni's...I am going to end up spending probably 7 grand on freaking shocks...fail. I am going to do it right this time, though. I am done with Koni....on to Moton or JRZ.

Remote reservoir shocks FTW.

The DA Koni's will be up for sale. They are still WAY better than any OTS coil-over or shock you can buy, but they will likely need a rebuild once a year (figure 600-750 for all 4). I'll sell them cheap.

Pic of fronts:

Default exhaust

Mike - what exhaust do you run - and what would you recommend as far as a cat back system. I looked at Stillen, Borla and also Legalis-R (fujitsubo) which isn't a true dual. Not interested in the sound so much (I commute with the car) but a bit more hp gain and low end and mid range torque would be good - i do realize exhaust doesn't do too much overall. Other issue is I have lots of rust just near cats so replacing not a bad idea.
