Talking Audio shops in Bethesda/Rockville/NOVA area?

Hey fellow Mid-A members,

I was hoping you guys could point me to a good, professional audio store near Rockville, Bethesda, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg, or even NOVA. (trying to avoid tysons corner because of construction/traffic.)

I tried researching but those threads were back in 2009, and I'm still exploring the area. I even asked goof but he never got back to me

I have the factory bose system and I'm looking to get rid of it and finally upgrading to something better.

I'm interested in a monitor with gps, blue tooth, xm capabilities, ipod, sd, dvd and a back up camera. (I intend on having one put in the front bumper*) As for speakers I'm not trying to rattle windows or anything crazy, just a better, clearer, bass. For an amp I want something with a little more power if I do decide to run subs, I use the trunk to haul around gear, school books, detailing products, etc.

My boy bmccan101 gave me some advice on equipment awhile back so I have an idea on a set up. I'd appreciate any advice and as always, thanks for viewing my thread.

Marco

One of my co-workers on Andrews has a shop, haven't hand any audio work done by them, but had my tint done there and it was pretty fast and good for work. Its by exit 9 on the beltway. I could give you his e-mail if your interested in talking to him.

Fresh Designs Inc

Ellicott City, MD 21042-2394
(301) 982-2110

You can have a custom sub enclosure built to fit underneath the strut bar which gives you space in front and behind it to continue hauling stuff around.

They tinted my windows a few years back when I bought my car out here in 08! They definitely do very nice work and the staff are awesome people. The only thing is, that they're freaking far...

I'm gunna give them a call tomorrow, thanx for the support guys!

^^^Just a heads up. My brother no longer works there and does the stereo work. Im not sure who's doing it honestly. Just double check everything bc the other guy who I think is still there can be forgetful sometimes. I never saw him do "bad work" he just gets in a rush and overlooks stupid ish sometimes.

Im still getting price qoutes.

I went to Fresh Designs and they qouted me 1300+ tax for a Kenwood DNX 7180 was 1300 NOT including face plate, installation, bypass etc

I found the same monitor online for 880, I understand some business have to mark up th prices but that seemed too high imo. I definitely want to do some research before I dump money into audio...

I got a message from another member and he recommended Absolute Electronix in Gaithersburg, MD. figured I'd check it out tomorrow.

I usually buy my own stuff [i.e. Crutchfield] and then bring it in for the install.

With a lot of places, it's more cost effective to buy the components yourself and then just have them do the install. Some things, like head units, could cheaper online.
