Try swapping around the existing coils? You can also unplug one at a time to find out if its dead (RPMs will drop on working coils when you unplug them). Most of the time failed coils have a melted bubble bulging out near the connector.

Don't all Zs get a misfire code? I know I disabled that code on my car. No matter what we did, we couldn't get the code to stop showing up.

usually a random misfire is caused by that one bad coilpack. just replace the bad one with a good one and you'll fix the misfire issue.

if one has gone out, (as history dictates) the others are sure to follow. While everything is out, might as well replace them all.

Neither my G or Z has ever thrown random misfire codes. Mechanical issues aside, it would usually indicates a rough tune.

Thumbs up

I remember I rocked a bad coil for a month, I didn't mind. Being the big star wars nerd I was I preferred the sound of chewbacca instead of the nice subtle tone of the VQ.

P0300 is the generic code that is a result of specific cylinder misfiring. So if you already figured out which coilpack is bad, you're gonna have to replace the coilpack regardless. Why don't you just replace the bad coil and see if the generic code P0300 goes away as well?
