Hammad,

Everyones panties are in a bunch..... Why did you have to go and beat that Bullitt..... its not fair, you cheated..... BUAHAHAHAHAHA..

Nobody believed me when I posted about killing an Audi S4 by 2 lengths in a street race, I know it happened because I was there and after reading all 8 pages worth of posts on this topic, I think us Bullittheads basically crashed this party pretty good, and I realize that is not cool... we wouldnt appreciate it and would start a bash fest if the roles were reversed.

I said it before and I will say it again, I would have a 350Z in my stable if my finances would permit it, but for now I just have to live with my Limited Special Edition POS Mustang Bullitt that will probably sell for what I paid new in about 10-15 years

Renault, Peugeot, 12 or 1/2 dozen of the other..

My point was, that the company with the controlling interest (and more board votes) ultimately determine the course of supply routes, engineering, and expenditure. So, as far as technical "ownership", you're right. They don't own them. BUT- there is little difference when the board of directors has more influence than...say...a CEO of Nissan. Take, for example, an excerpt from The Renault website:

Renault-Nissan BV

The new Renault-Nissan BV entity is endowed with legal powers and is the only one authorized to take strategic decisions. It is to replace the GAC (Global Alliance Committee), which has been steering operations since 1999.

_excerpt end

These "strategic" decisions will include what parters are selected for manufacture of parts, and cross-platform component usage, as well as ALL Nissan's legal affairs.

We all know from our US experience with the Renault that the quality is very questionable- but I could be wrong. It's happened before.

These global mergers can make a car better, or worse, depending on the "owner of controlling interest". Thier main focus is on increasing the bottom line- I suppose one may want to look at the past history of the company that is making these "strategic" decisions.

I'm not knocking the 350Z. I just wanted to make my point to you, the all-knowing, venerable moderator of this website.

Can we stop this now?

lata-REALLY

RiceKiller,

I understand your point, I got frazzled in this stupid mess earlier but I also never wanted to start a bash war (especially with a group of owners whos cars are awesome and respectable)... everyone likes their cars, some get really pi$$ed when they read about a car they might dislike, or think is inferior beating the hell out of the same car they own... its silly in a way, its not like I was driving the Bullitt that Hammad destroyed so why would I or any other Bullitt owner be offended? Pride I guess....

I do think that even Hammad has respect for the POS American Bullitt, he might even have a secret crush on her sleak, Dark Highland Green sleeper Hillbilly 38-28-36 lines and curves

Enjoy what you have as some people in this world cant even afford shoes!!
Peace and take care

P.S. Come by www.imboc.com and start some $hit, I know we deserve it!!!

Thank you for the sensible post. and yes i do like the bullitt more so then i like any other stang. partly because it doesnt have a spoiler and the light treatment is a lil different. i think that is very asthetically pleasing. also i never called it a POS untill people did it to me. its just that things get ugly when people call BS on stuff. anyways i think we should lay this thread to rest now. i bet people are getting sick of seeing it up on top for so long. good luck with your cars and be safe, oh and if any of you are in the socal area we can get togather and maybe get a couple of runs.

Ricekiller,

I wasn't trying to make any point or judgement about what it means that Renault controls Nissan...just getting the facts straight.

P.S. I'm going to close this thread (long after it should have been!)
