Default Lost to a.....

Was around 1am chillin with a female friend of mine, and a new mustang GT was driving wildly, going into the curb lane giving me a look to run... so it was on. I forgot my VDC was on and it totally killed my launch, didn't help the mustang got a real great jump, but by 60 i inched up to his rear bumper and we shut down... my female friend had a big grin on her face after I was done though... hehe. I learned one valuable lesson from all this, TURN VDC OFF IF YOU PLAN ON DRAG RACING

while VDC kills your chances, the fact that it engaged means you were bout to spin your tires anyway. of course I think itd be better to spin a little then have it shut down the power.

yes, as in queens... I got my car at difeo nissan in jersey city, nj. I wouldn't recommend them as they tired the heck out of me in that financing dept.. but i did get MSRP, so just say someone else got msrp at that dealer, i'm sure they'll match it... especially with this horrid winter, i'm sure the Z sales are slower. The dealers in NYC weren't that great, bay ridge nissan wanted 5k over msrp (ridiculous) star nissan wanted 1500 over for the track model, and five towns didn't even take me seriously. Just shoot for MSRP or possibly a little less.

Well in 1 day I visited 2 dealers, Star on Northern and Koeppel on the otherside of Northern. Both of them didn't have test cars out to test drive. I think it's because of teh low clearance and b/c people just go there to BUY the car. They didn't ask for a markup on the car. They just wanted Sticker price. I'll get my car sometime next spring. Hopefully they won't mark up the price. Maybe we can have a Z-meet in the summertime at Shea or the docks around there.

Default VDC kills times

Just for the hell of it, I tested my 0-60 with VDC on with my g-tech. I think it was around 6.7 or so, it was pretty funny. The car hits the breaks when you launch & when you shift into second. Anyways, nice death....haha

The problem with a torque car with little top end is a little spin kills your day. I have this problem with the wagon (see sig so i don't look crazy) with the S2000 you have to do a 7000rpm drop to get a nice time but with my wagon, if I get the slightest bit of wheel spin I might as well give up. It's a low 13 sec car that will run 14's if you spin em. I saw an intresting dyno chart comparing the VQ35 in the 255hp maxima to a Mustang old 5.0. The HP and Torque curve was identical with the exception of the numbers. With that said I'll assume launching a VQ35 is like launching my wagon and Wheel spin will end your race.
