Default Ran my Dad's S55 AMG today

Ha it was ridiculous. But then again he has 495Hp and 515lbs torque and a 0-60 of 4.7 or something around there. He made the challange and fully knew he would rape me, and well he did simply that. He got outta his car with a large grin on his face and offered me the keys and another run. This time I raped him but in his S55 and him in the Z. He loved the Z tho and insisted he got to drive it the 40 or so miles back to the house from the rinky dink country road we raced on. It was fun, and maybe one of these days I to will be able to pimp around in something similar when old age hits me. But for the time being im perfectly happy with the Z.

Yeah, but the S55 is also 100K!! Try the S60, I saw one around here and they do more to it than the AMG version, I have heard that it is up to 700HP, it is done by Renntech here in West Palm.

Actually an "S55" only has 354HP and runs 5.6 sec 0-60. Maybe you are talking about the SL55, but then again if your dad really had one, you would have known that. Do you really think the rest of us just started on car boards yesterday.

my dad has a CLK55 right now, it is a fun car, but still to heavy for my taste (the CL and S frame cars are BOATS with a TON of power though), NOT my style, I will take a 996 TT anyday over on of those (at least until I turn 90).

My dad has a SL55 on order, I hope i get my Z so I can run him with his 347 HP AMG car versus the almost 500hp AMG car.

I know, and it is nice to see someone that can do that in todays world. But in this day and age people also have a bad habit of telling others such things as this,

Raceboy wrote, "but then again if your dad really had one, you would have known that. Do you really think the rest of us just started on car boards yesterday."
Above statement = Ignorance.

OK, still gonna go on about it, let's see a pic of the Z and the S together. Maybe I still don't believe and if I am wrong, I'll eat my shoe this time.

All I said was that I was wrong on the HP. 9 out of 10 times when people on the internet say "my dad has X" it's BS. Haven't you ever noticed that everyone's dad has a Ferrari or a Viper or an NSX etc? It's usually just some new car they have just read about. Is this guy the 1 in 10 telling the truth? No pic yet, but I got a shoe ready just in case!!

raceboy, I don't think his intent was to impress you with his Daddys car, but was MORE focused on a race. Dude, believe it or not, people own these cars, I see more 55 cars around here than 500, 430, or 320s (seriously) a guy down the street even leaves his E55 outside the garage, my nieghbor has a 996 Turbo silver sitting out as I type. I just got out of grad school and so far I have had a patient in his mid 20s that has a 360 modena (1st one I got to drive), another similar age with a Lotus Turbo Esprit RSR (if you know what the RSR is, you would know how special that car is), a CFO of a medical group that drives a bentley and another guy in his 50s that drives a Vantage Valante and gets him Vanquish in a couple weeks. Come to think of it, I just saw a Yellow Marcialago drive down the street (Ironically the same thing happened last year, the DAY after I went to the LA auto show, I saw a yellow Marcialago, weird).

My father has owned some of the cars you just mentioned (actually he never owned a ferarri and wouldn't be caught dead in a Viper), but it is NO big deal, it doesn't make you a bettter person or any cooler. This is a Auto forum for car enthusiasts (something the general public thinks is probably a bit arrogent in and of itself, I mean how shallow are we put pay over 30k for a car that only gets one from point A to B and them we are stupid enough to waste time on a site like this and talk about it
