350z vs. camaro?
I always trapped the same, between 105 and 108 depending on launch and ran low 13's until I added NO2. My 60' was always like 1.9 Almost every single time, with Nitto DR's.
Then after NO2 My 60' dropped to 1.5 1.6 and 114 to 115 trap.
They prepped the track really good that night though for Pontiac
Vs. Mopar night so who knows? About 250 cars.

Sure does seem to be allot of non 350Z LS1 members here on this board though. Anyone else notice that?
I think they are waiting and watching our mod list in fear
Twin Turbo soon folks! Then we can talk trash. Till then the LS1 will beat the 350Z. But who drives the 1/4 mile everyday?
My Z is a comfortable head turning daily driver and 154mph speed demon at night (Motor Trend verified top speed.)
In all fairness others should be comparing their Camaro and Mustang **V6's** to our V6's but that isn't happening is it now??

Can I get one too, just to even up the playing feild for me a little? 800hp TT LT1 kit
Man that thing is awesome!!
And ready for sale right now too!!
Why oh why must we wait??? It even comes with new programming. Drool....
D'oh has really summed it up very good.
It's the WHEEL TORQUE that accelerates your car.
That seems like a good argument for torque, but wait...
Wheel torque = engine torque * gears - drivetrain losses
So gears and engine torque are equally important in accelerating your car.
The catch is that a higher revving engine (while maintaining the same engine torque) allows you to use shorter (numerically taller) gears and still get the same top speed in each gear.
So, engine torque + higher revving engine = wheel torque.
Engine torque * revs has a name.
Horsepower.

And before somebody says it must of been this and that kinda a Z28, It was the everyday 2003 model 6-sp 325HP (might be off by a few, don't have the book with me) Z28..
And also remember your comparing a 3.5 V6 producing 287HP with a fossil powered by a 5.7 V8 Producing just 30 more HP..

what you see in the mags dose'nt really me **** in the real world
my father has a 1999 z28(ls1) stock we ran 12.80's with the car

There is a lot of misinformation here....torque accelerates a car not hp. This is a fact get over it...f=m*a. Hp is important and here is why...say you have a car that makes 300ft/lbs at 3000 rpms and one that makes 300ft/lbs at 6000 rpms. Both cars will accelerate at the same rate...but one has twice the hp. Now here is how hp can be important...since you are at 6000 rpms you can gear it down by 2 so it is turning 3000 rpms. Now both motors are turning the same amount of rpms however the one that is geared down is now putting out 600ft/lbs. In conclusion...torque accelerates a car...hp just allows you to take advantage of gearing.
