As someone who could probably care less about LS1-powered cars, you can be forgiven for not knowing just about every LS1-powered car puts about the same horsepower down to the rear wheels. The people responsible for giving the Corvettes all those extra ponies reside in GM's marketing department, not in engineering.

There are countless dyno pulls on stock LS1 cars out there. Check out LS1tech.com and you should be able to find some. Also check out LS1.com when it comes back up (GM reliability, huh ) - there are even more posted there.

Here, I'll save you a little time...

'02 WS6, stock down to the paper filter. This car is rated at 325hp, and is putting down 312rwhp with only 1,200 miles on the clock. Not bad considering the LS1 gains power during a long break-in, not unlike the VQ. Now, the WS6 and SS do put down a few ponies more than a Z28, TA, or Formula of the same model year due to a better cat-back. The Z28, TA, and Formula seem to put down around 300rwhp. Not bad for cars rated at 310hp.

Yah, 317rwhp may be a little high for a Z28 bone stock, but who knows - there are factory freaks out there.

I'd say just about any LS1-powered car makes in the ballpark of 350hp at the crank. The Corvettes may produce a little more due to true dual exhaust and a better intake tract but by the time the IRS soaks up its share they're putting down rwhp in the ballpark of an f-body.

The most any LS1-powered car will put down the the rear wheels in stock trim is around 325rwhp for the Firehawks and the 345hp-optioned SS's. SLP puts a better lid and catback on those at their factory.

wow, that is impressive that they are putting that kind of power down at the wheels.
