Default What scca solo 2 class is the 350Z in?

Is it SS, AS, BS? I know it can't be lower then BS. Are the cars competitive? Anyone here auto crossed one? One more thing what class would mildly modded 350z be in?

actually its a much smaller class, with only an e36 m3 (1 car, 2 drivers) to compete against so far this season.

heh - I've got an S2k, Porsche 968, BMW Z3, 300zx TT, & a 1970 Corvette (cams, intake & running av gas at a minimum) here in Cincy. The Vette guy will be protested next event and then I should be a front runner. I lost to the Vette by 2.3 seconds (placed second in class) first event and only .2 seconds at the second event. I should have no problem beating him when I get my race tires but I still don't like 'cheaters' running in class (although I let my friend in the S2k slip with an intake).

BS in my region is small but most guys are running r-compound. On the better drivers is matt murray. He has a fast s2000 driver.

I finally saw a Z in action today. Today was my 1st auto x this year. Let me tell you, the Z have almost no body roll!! The BS class was packed today. 3 Z, bunch of s2000 and a MR2. BTw there was a LAN evo. The LAN evo had allot more body roll. Plus the evo was in AS. But the Z needs more development time to catch up to the s2000 and MR2's.

From my seperence the Z will out run both cars... the mr2 has a better shot over the Z in some places b/c of having the engie in the middle of the car... I almost beat a s2000 on hosiers... just slightly slower... so ... the Z can beat them.. just got to push it a lil bit harder... though fixing the understear would help alot

At a regional event, sure (I regularly out run a Hoosier shod Z06 in my region, but I certainly know that is driver rather than car) National level is a different story. So far, no national level driver has decided to put an effort into fielding one at a Tour or Pro. There are a couple of national level drivers who own Zs, but they are competing in different rides for some reason (Carter, Pat...you guys out there?).

Perhaps next year someone will make the effort to field one in some of the National series events.

Carter ran his Z this weekend. From what he was saying a few weeks ago, I thought he'd taken it to several events already. I think he's only had his shocks for a few weeks. I believe he had Koni make him some. He was telling us he had been able to get rid of the understeer pretty much with those, although he might still be going to do something with the front bar, too. Not sure.

He hasn't run it at any of the Tours or Pros so far this year. I hope he does bring it out soon...many are really very interested to see how well it competes.

I've run aginst carter Twice so far. Super Cool guy. He even offered for me to crash at his place for a Divisional later this summer. He seems pretty laid back about the car. He was at the PRO event back in febuary and very new to the car. And then I got to run aginst him at the divisional a few weeks ago in South Carolina. In the dry I think I was about 1.5 seconds ahead. But in the wet he got me by a large margin and we were both on **** poor rain tires. Neither of us could hold a Candle to GH in the Boxster in the wet. (and he had bran new Escta V700's)

If Carter is cboost28 with the blue 350, He ran at an auto-x in atlanta a couple months ago and had the fastest times of the day. Truly spectacular driving!

Thats him alright. He is indeed an awsome driver. One of the few guys that could hold on to the S2K's in the Turbo MR2's. I believe he ahd quite a few championships in it.
