Seriously though, east coast drag strips always generate faster times than west coast. I think most east coast strips are closer to sea level, maybe that has something to do with it.

Obviously, those 2 cars, 350Z and S2000, are NOT for DRAG Racing. They find their waaay better spot at the swisted road courses, and feel a lot more confidence in corners rather than straightways.
Of course the acceleration of the car is very important, but at least those guys who made 350Z and S2000 did not intend these cars for Dragsters. They are built to dive into corners faster than any other and blast out faster than any others.
S2000 makes incredible 240hp with "merely" 2.0 liter displacement. I still can't believe they could do that with such a small displacement. This is why I love honda and have a belief that Honda makes one of the best engines in the world.
Z's VQ35DE(if I named it right) is still a great engine, but it has almost twice displacement advantage over s2000. So it is not abnormal to think Z has a bit better acceleration than S2000, but S2000 has better handling and cornering ability due to its lighter 4-cylinder engine and lower curb weight. Z also has great handling and cornering ability, but has disadvantages due to its heaver weight, however Z is easier to control at the limit since S2000 is a bit trickier to control and its picky VTEC system makes it even tougher(You don't want it to kick in or out while your trailbraking or cornering.) S2000 can be a dreadful cornering machine if handled properly, and skillfully. I personally love both cars, and I considered both of them for new car purchase but I went with Z because it fit better to my taste and I was not that confident to have such a MEAN car. To me, S2000 was too pure, raw, wild beast to take full control over it. (Oh, I live in area where it snows quite a bit during the winter and didn't have a garage, and it had to be my first and only car, not a second car.)
I like fast cars, but I love cars that handles better in the corners.
Of course Z's stunning style and Chick-magnet characteristics also caught my eyes
