the car was a "Fairly Quick 95 TSi AWD." all he has is a bigger turbo and supporting mods. kept up with the Z till 3rd gear when the talon pulled ahead hard. if the only DSM you guys have come across is an RS or GS ricer-mobile, wait till you meet a gsx/tsi awd. stock for stock vs a Z isnt that fair, but for under 10 grand you can get a 97+ gsx and for about 5 grand you can be pushing more than 400 hp and about an 11 sec 1/4 mile. which is much faster, all wheel drive, and sexy style for about a third of the price of a 350. my gsx dyno'd in at 368 hp at the wheels; more than my 300TT. it was a force to be reconed with, thats for damn sure. dont make fun of DSMs.

Not really. Turbo DSMs can be pretty fast with little mods.

Any signs of crankwalk yet?

Yeah, nothing worse than a RS with a wing.

Sounds like some people over here need to get educated in more than just the 350Z.. some of the guys here think the Fbody guys came here to start problems..when in reality we are just tryin to spread some knowledge..this would be yet another case of that. Read around that site a bit...Im sure you will learn a few things. Stock DSMs are not screaming fast.. low 15s/high 14s in the fastest of the bunch.. however for very little money.. they can easily surpass the 14.1 @ 100mph 1/4 mark

I agree with the person stated it earlier. It doesn't take much for a dsm to go fast. But only if it has a turbo. The n/a dsm, will never be as fast as turboed one. A half decent modded turbo dsm, will walk a 350 anyday. I love my 350 but facts is facts.

Are Mitsu 3000GT's/Stealths condisered "DSM"? If so, I think they may be a bit faster than the Z (twin turbo that is).

they arent DSM as they are made in japan, whereas the eclipse is made in america. anyway, the VR-4 model has a twin turbo'd 3.0L V6 pushing 320 hp through all wheel drive. the thing is heavy as hell at more than 3700 lbs though, but it has the power to hold itself very well.

Some people refer to them as DSM's, but they were made in Japan. "True" DSM's (Talon/Eclipse/Laser/Galant VR-4) were made at the DSM plant in Illinois. Some don't even consider the 2G's a "true" DSM, because Diamond Star Motors went out of business in 1993 when they sold their stock to Mitsu. So the last of the DSM manufactured cars was the 1994 models. The plant stayed open under Mitsu, but Talons had the Eagle emblem rather than Mitsu. Also, the 2G's are considered direct descendents of the 1G's, because of trims and various other reasons. Lancer EVO's overseas are also somewhat linked to DSM's due to the fact that they share the same engine and many parts are interchangeable between the two...the same can be said of the overseas Mirage. Your Stealth is related, and I believe they share the same TD05H-14B turbo with the 1G Talon/Eclipse/Laser, except of course two of them...sort of like a cousin to DSM's

Ditto, I love my Z but miss the potential of my 99 GS-t. Ran a best (with a crappy 2.4 60') of 13.7@107 on a big16g, stk intercooler, and supporting mods, till it was totalled.
