Ran a 13.9 in a stock G35C!!!

Dude, I'm just having fun with you. G35C are a little slower through the quarter mile than the 350Z, which is mentioned on this site quite a bit but it's true. Maybe the track you ran on was faster than the one he ran on. Wind conditions, all sorts of variables come into play.

My point had absolutely nothing to do with the weather or track conditions though...the math just doesn't add up...if two cars run near identical 60fts...and neither car misses a gear, the one that traps higher will always have a lower E.T. regardless of conditions...thats a fact. His run just doesn't add up to mine....no matter what track you're at...it's still the same 1320ft and a second is still the same amount of time...

Stock 99+ stang GT 5-speeds were only trapping 94-95mph...and a Single turbo supra (Sound Performance custom kit) was only trapping 112-114. I'm pretty sure my car has a 13.7xx@103-104 in it at a different track in good conditions considering that I pull away from my buddies Maxima at a good pace.

Shifting for example. Lets say that the G35 dude shifts faster (I think his car was an auto) so although though you are even through the 60', (not sure if you'd still be in first or second at this point) as you shift maybe he gains a bit. As you near the end, he has taken a slight lead, but since you are going faster you catch up right at the end. If you extended the race to 3/8 mile you would probably have a significant lead, since you were gong a few MPH faster at the 1/4.
Anyhow, there is more to the race than just the 60' and 1/4 mile. The 1/8 mile would definitely help give better resolution on your movement down the track compared to the G35 dude.
I was watching NHRA last weekend (not even top fuel, so most of the times were in the 7-8 second range) and every so often a dude would screw up part way down the track. Those guys would get beaten by a mile, but still get a time of 10-11 seconds at maybe 65 mph. This happened because they'd let off the gas and cost across the line. They'd still get awesome times (compared to normal cars) because they accelerated so quickly before the problem occurred. Anyhow, that is just an extreme example of how only looking at the 60' and 1/4 times and speeds can be decieving.

Not necessarily. Let's say you have two hypothetical cars. They have the same gearing in 1st, but Car G accelerates faster in 2nd and 3rd. Car Z, on the other hand, accelerates much, much faster in 4th. Car G averages 1 mph faster between the first and last 60', but Car Z gains 4 mph on Car G during the last 60'.
Car G would still beat Car Z, even though Car Z would finish with a higher maximum speed, because the Z was only faster than the G for the last 60', whereas the G had much more than 3 times that distance to pull away at 1 mph more.
Now, I'm not suggesting at all that that's how the G35 and 350Z are actually geared, but maybe he found a slightly better shift point for 2nd and 3rd gear, whereas you hit 4th stronger. It's less likely in cars built this similarly, but not impossible. Especially if it's AT vs. MT.
In any event, you definitely can't rely solely on launches and max mph to figure 1/4 times. Not all cars accelerate at the same rate through all gears. Even a jogger will do a 1/4 mile faster than a Z if you're stuck in a traffic jam until the last 60' feet.

This hypothetical "one car pulling more in one gear, and the other pulling much harder in another" just doesn't work in a 1/4 mile drag race...it's simply not a long enough race for those very very minimal differences to have any real impact. If you know anything about drag racing...a 4mph higher trap on the top end is HUGE. And if the car that is trapping 4mph higher has the same powerband as the other and shorter gearing, it's going to pull on the other car all the way down the 1/4 mile...not just on the top end.
Your theory in this situation is kaput.

I would like to know his 1/8mile E.T. and trap...but he hasn't posted anything except 60ft, 1/4 E.T. and 1/4 Trap.

My point was not that you suck at shifting, or even that shifting was THE cause. The point was only that there are many factors that can cause the cars (even identical cars) to run slightly differently, and without seeing the rest of the times, all we know for sure is that the other dude would have been ahead from some point after the 60' all the way until the very end, at which point you had just caught up and were passing him.

I will be out at the Drgway in Kenosha this sunday - have a date with a young'n who owns a 03 Accord coupe auto. I will be happy to race you. I have an auto and have NEVER dragged before, but maybe we can recreate the other G35 coupes time. The weather should be in the 60/70's and will be fun either way. I'm not sure why people argue over times that other people acheived. Every car is different, every driver is different. Lets just have fun. "Wanna see me run to that rock and back?... Wanna see me do it again?" - Sponge Bob.
BTW, I just cam back from the dragway. I saw Pearl Demons VR4. It's a great looking car. I saw it race, but do not remember the other car or the outcome. I did see a 8 second Supra and a low 13 civic with DR's. I am paitiently waiting for a Turbo.
