Thumbs up 350z vs Trans Am

my 350z vs. TA (6 speed)- LT1, by the way (like a '97 or '96)

Two lane road. Some Ford Cavalier GS piece of **** in the left lane, the TA in the right lane. I was behind the TA. Light goes green, he takes off semi fast.

We both punch it & I get my front bumper to his rear by the time I shift to 2nd.

Then, we stay DEAD EVEN until the top of my 4th gear (~110 or so). I was in the exact same spot, although I felt as if I was starting to inch up on him (probably not)

Fuking bad *** race. Don'tknow if he had any mods or not, probably stock like me.

Not bad for a 6-7 year old car, hehe. I knew it was gonna be close, but this was dead even.

Awesome race.

peace!

Not as good as say a Corvette but still respectable.....that sloped windshield isn't there for no reason
A LT1 M6 should pull to near 160mph without too much problem.

Great race. Try to get beside him next time. With a good launch you should be able to take him.

I remember that the 3rd Gen cars (which came out in '82) were rated at .33 Cd, so i'd imagine they at least improved on it slightly for the current gen cars. Call it maybe .31 or .30, but I don't know it offhand.

Very close only mod was an airlid. Running street tires as well.

You have got one strong @ss car there. I could only pull a 105 trap speed at 2200ft elevation in my '02 Z28.

Thanks...i think its a bit of a freak.

How do you like your new Maxima? A friend used to have a 95 Maxima and it was a great car.

Good race man. IMHO, a well-maintained LT1 6-speed should be a very good race with a 350Z. If there were ever to be a drivers race, that would be one.

Anywhere in the high 220's to low 230's would be roughly the case for all stock 350z's. The other "How does a 350Z stack up to an LS1" thead, had a post on the third page showing something like 228rwtq.
