Exclamation Lamest street race ever...

...and I was the star. I was out for a cruise after washing the Z28 - t-tops off, Skynrd in the CD player, mullet blowing in the wind and a big wad of dip in my lower lip. Obviously I was looking for a little fun. Got passed up by an '01 Cobra, a black 350Z, a couple of Corvettes and some assorted rice and was a the last light by my house. It's one of those lights that almost immediately goes from two lanes down to one after the intersection. A Camry full of some young yuppie scum pulls up next to me and I pay no mind (it was the good part of Freebird). Then the loser launches on me. I was so desperate for any kind of race I actully bit.

I dumped the clutch but still had traction control engaged. Anyone who's ever ridden in an LS1 f-car know the traction control program was most likely written by an accounting intern and a monkey, because all it does is shut the car down (rear brakes even engage) until the damn thing is almost stopped. So now this Camry full 'o yuppies has like two cars on me and I've got to dig myself out of a 1K RPM hole. It took a second but once I got up above 3K I reeled said yuppies back in and passed them as I shifted into second with a very redneckish tire chirp.

I felt like such a loser. Even though the bastard rice launched on me it was still a Camry full of people. I think that's even worse than picking on the local riceboys. Flame away!

That's funny. Was it I-4 or V6, V6 would give you some trouble . Consider yourself an equal oppurtunity racer.

No offense, but are you not a jackass?

Putting "no offense" in front makes everything ok, right?

Nice kill, BTW

No offense but since every other reply is based on your dickish nature I will add my .02 and reinforce the fact that you are indeed a dick. Good luck with that.

Thumbs up

I feel your pain Caswell... Here's my story of traction control embarassment...

I barely beat an old pickup trunk to a lane merge because I couldn't find the VDC/TCS off button quick enough before the stoplight turned green (I rarely race so I wasn't prepared). The pickup driver wanted to make me earn the spot (I've done the same thing before). When the light turned green, he gunned it. I spun the tires a bit off the line (then VDC/TCS cut power), then the same thing happened when shifting to second (more tire spin, more power loss). I beat the guy to the merge, but looked like an idiot in the process.

I don't get it....was that a joke?

Anyways....I know how you feel getting some people trying to race with a car that (not trying to sound cocky) doesn't stand a chance....

and tranction control...sucks.
I had a car load of friend who kept asking me to lay on the gas one time....I really don't like doing that with people in the car, but broke down and did it....with Traction Control on.....
So, I roll into first, then nail second hard....and the car starts bucking and lurching and everyone's heads are flopping around like a bobble head doll. I look down to see the traction control on...

Probably not. If I remember correctly, Zmoney was they guy that got his panties in a wad because I called him an idiot for racing in traffic through a part of Orlando that (at least when I lived there) stays pretty busy. Amazing how some people can get offended over the internet and stay mad. No, I take that back. It's not amazing, it's pathetic.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's been embarrassed by traction control. It sounds like the same intern/monkey team did the traction control on the 350Z and Cobra. I'd much rather have the more aggressive program that the Z06 has.

Yeah, going WOT through first gear and letting off an instant into second across a state highway is the exact same as running to 80mph on Semoran. I also said in your original thread that the only reason I called you an idiot was that in my memory Semoran is always packed with traffic and if that wasn't the case when you were racing then no harm done.

In case you haven't noticed, I couldn't care less what you think of me or how you'd like to label me. Call me a hypocrite all you want, use your little peeing monkey smiley all you want. I don't give a rat's ****.
