Default Let's Make a List!

Let's make a list of common sports cars that theoretically the 2003 350Z should beat and those it should lose to... all else being the same (no mods, similar drivers, etc...) That way all of us poor saps who don't know **** about racing will know who to race when we have a girl in the car and don't want to look like idiots by losing!!!!

If you feel like an idiot losing with your girl in your car you either.......
1.) Shouldn't race period
OR
2.) By mods or a faster car

But in reality there is always someone faster.......who cares if you lose? Its not life or death.

Such a list already exists in the back of Road & Track. You can compare quarter mile times ad nauseum if you like. Unfortunately you will quickly realize that the .3 second difference listed doesn't mean anything when you actually race. If you "don't know **** about racing" then stick to mag racing. Just keep that list of quarter mile times under your seat and show the car beside you that your car is faster.

Punk?!

I can understand your desire to figure out where you stand in comparison to other sports cars. You can do some research and find TONS of quarter mile times, lap times, magazine comparisons, etc. This will give you a general idea of where your car stands.

Fortunately (or unfortunately for some) there is a lot more to racing than "what's under the hood." Driving skill is such a huge variable that a "list" is worth nothing more than the paper it's printed on.

That's all for today class.
