Z kills in looks, STi has it beat in HP and torque. handling may be up in the air. http://www.vwvortex.com/features/ind...compare03.html not a comparison of the Z, but a pretty good read.

The STi's sure are fugly, but it would be nice not to have to put the car in storage five months out of the year (MI winter > RWD + horsepower).

would be a close call. They both look great in thier own way. The Z is more sleek while the STI has more head turning appeal.

Since you live in CA the all wheel is a toss up.

Z comes in many better colors.

Both are great cars but if it was me, i'd get the STI. AWD+turbo+future cheap turbo upgrades.

Looks=350
speed=STI

I think Z is more head turning than the STi.. I saw one last weekend, it just doesn't do it for me...It looks like a 4dr sedan that has been modified by adding aerodynamic parts and more aggressive hood opening...

But if you are talking performance wise, it may take Z on most of the catagories.. stock vs stock..

I would pick a Z over a STi. The only I love about the STI is that it can fit more girls in it.

The Z is more of a true sports car. 2 seater, RWD, ect.

The STi is a rally car. A serious performer, but different goals.

Looks, I can't get over the looks of the STi, kinda goofy IMO.

Have you considered looking at an EVO? Better looking than the STi by far.

Or if you really want the Z, but can't stick with just 2 seats, go test drive a G35c. I drove a coupe and sedan, they're really sweet cars.

But, if you want a true sportscar, the Z is really the only choice in the same price range.

Don't even look at Evolutions. If you think ford break a lot than you never owned a mitsubishi. The only thing it go going for it is a front mounted intercooler.

Cool

Yeah, G35s are sweet but my gf has one. I don't really want to drive the same car. Z at least has some difference.
But STi will be more useful in the other way.
