350z Vs. 300zxtt
Finally raced my friend who owns a 91' 300zxTT last night. The first race was a rolling start from about 35mph and of course I got a major jump on him but he came from behind and pulled on me at about 75. I was a little shaken but not mad.
Second race, the standing quarter mile. I spun the tires a little too much due to the the excitement but still got a car length out front thru 1st, 2nd, and half of third when the 300 came alive and caught me and then put his rear bumber a few feet in front of my front. I felt let down at first but knew he had more power at speed. The 350z will easily take the 300 0-60 but 70-130 is a whole different story.
His car is basically stock except for some high flow mufflers and modified OEM intake. It is a must that I "at least" purchase a cat-back exhaust system now! Truly wish I had the money for turbos or a supercharger RIGHT NOW.

a high flow muffler does absolutely nothing. well, if anything... maybe .5 hp, but if its something like a cat-back, or a turbo-back, you're boost will creep up higher than normal for a second or so each time you floor it/shift, then return to normal levels. exhaust wants to travel the fastest it can, and by freeing up the exhaust pipes, it wants to go through there and make more boost for a bit before the wastegate opens and evens out the boost levels to whatever you have it set it.
