Performance Factorys 15 to 1 compression All Motor Project..
From May Road and Track, Speed Section:
No engine shots, or mention about displacement, i/h/e or fuel, but gives you an idea what the VQ can do in N/A form.
Nothing has been left untouched, as T&E rebuilt the VQ engine using Nismo parts (titanium valves with special valve springs, upgraded cylinder heads, camshafts) as well as HKS's high-compression pistons and a new ECU from Yashio Factory. The result is about 420 bhp.
well, the car has stock headers, the wrong plenum, and not fully tuned, it will be pretty nasty here soon. i am putting it back on the dyno right now, will have some video later on and i will be hitting hte track friday now not tonight.
its supposed to be a little cooler this weekend.

yeah it was pretty hot when i was on the dyno, i have pretty much maxed out what i have to work with at 295.
i actually changed it over to speed density and used that to tune it. this way i am not doing any factory offset and now i have full control over injector pulse width and timing. that was actually very easy to do and it only took me a second to have it running perfectly.
i need cams and headers and will hit 320-340. we will see soon, i am going to the track for sure on friday. i did notice that after 5000 the car starts pulling more vacuum, it is in some serious need of some air up top. i will work on another custom intake pipe to get some air in there. i will probably just throw the maf in the trash!!!
here are a couple small clips

wow, i didnt know the specs on the S1 cams i had laying around were so mild.
that makes me pretty happy cause that means i pretty much got around 30 or so hp by compression alone which makes perfect sense. so now its time to step it up here soon.
looking at tomeis and talking with brian crower to see what i can do. such an expensive "guess" to figure out what my car needs.
one thing is this, the rev up lower plenum moved my power band to a much more usable curve and now the car pulls ALL the way to 7000, shifting at 8000 grand makes my cross over point pretty high so that works out perfectly.
i will look at my graphs and see it i can find a nice clean graph, my rpm pickup was jumping a bit, sucks cause at 7500-7700 in fifth gear, i hit the top speed limiter, so a couple graphs and pulls were in 4th gear where i put down about 3 to 4 less hp on average. my theory is that in 5th gear , the exhaust gases have an easier time getting out of the way because i am at the rpm longer so there is less backpressure created with these crappy stock headers...
more to come and i will post up a graph in a second
i see why people were losing power with they were putting on the revup lower on the 287 motor, it has to be some issues with the cam timing. my dyno pickup was doing some weird things up over 7 grand and stopped there. graph keeps going up till about 7250 and levels out on the speed mph chart. after just overlaying the two graphs, i dont know if i want to use the rev up lower now cause of the 15 hp loss at 5500. we will see. revup lower is in red and 287 lower is in blue

Keep it up Jeremy. Again, can't wait to see what a nice cam and some headers will do for you.
Also who is doing the longtubes?? or are you doing longtubes?
also got the quote.. thanks

thanks guys, equal length doesnt really matter when it comes to NA headers, turbo manifolds it is a lot more important. long tube headers would really help my situation here and i am looking into all my options, everything is too expensive just to try out and not work right so i am seeing if people want to send me stuff to try out in return for advertising.
