^ Yes. I totally concur.

Very cool project you have here Jeremy. NA isn't the easiest or cheapest way to make power but it is the sexiest.

we will see if it is a big waste of time or if it will be able to actually make some power. i have some numbers in my head that i will be happy with if it hits after some hardcore tuning....

i wish machine shops didnt take so long to do stuff sometimes..

i think it will be ok though. block is not sleeved and i have the jets for a 225 shot in there now but will try to at least go to the 350-400 shot range on nitrous alone

who cares if it blows up??!!! hahaha

no cryo treatment, i was trying to do it all on a little budget, i will be controlling the nitrous with 28 inch slicks...
400 shot with that kind of compression? wow

tons of cars run high compression with nitrous all the time. maybe not as wide spread in the import scene though.

its fun doing stuff that hasnt been done before..

I remember reading about a civic running 18:1 compression with a 200 shot. Made some monster power from what I remember.

I think the Nitrous actually cools the combustion chamber and makes running high compression safer in a way. Still, tunning this thing will be key. What EMS will you be using? How high will your redline be?

cylinder pressure with nitrous are not as high as with boost.

High compression and nitrous go well together.

Cylinder temps are a greater concern with nitrous.

If you don't mine me asking how much did the custom 14.9 pistons cost you?
Thanks David

JE will make any piston you ask them to for a great reasonable price, pistons usually start at about 100 each and then add costs for other things like coatings or special rings....

I'm sure you already know Jeremy but with a 400 shot, it will only take one ping to occur for flames, pistons and oil to be shooting all over the place.

oh yes i know, im sure i will blow it up BUT i am going to work a little slower than i did last time with my own motor....

i have blocks laying around every where and hopefully can pick up a few big sponsors so i can push stuff a little more without hurting my pockets as bad.

thanks guys, a couple more days and i will have my heads back then i will be ready to go, i will probably just break it in on the dyno doing some crazy pulls.

I can help out in the plenum mod dept. LMK.

You know, it might actually be beneficial for your application to use a water/meth injection kit.

There can be several benefits.
1) The obvious, it will help supress the tendancy for ping.
2) You may find you can use a lower octane gas thus reducing the really high fuel costs.
3) It will keep the cylinders, pistons, heads and valves carbon free and very clean. The biggest benefit of cleanliness will be when you shoot the N2O. It would be a lot safer doing a 400 shot into clean cylinders.
It may just be the difference needed for relibility when using a 400 shot.

thanks tony. i havent figured out what kind of plenum/intake runners i will go with in the future but i will be using some standard stuff first and then upgrading it. i just want to keep it simple at first and change stuff out on the dyno. wont be too long now!!

Ha ha ha ha, i'm quoting you in my sig...that is awesome.

edit...by the way, i love you (manly love b/c of how bad azz this project is). I'm so excited about this, i wish i could daily drive something like that. I would roll around on 28inch et streets on some ccw classics. If it rains i will just take a nap in my car, i don't have a passenger seat so i can just throw an egg crate foam thing over there and curl up.
