My buddy has a lambo kit car. He also has a 2003 or 4 (if i remember correctly) Altima 3.5. well believe it or not he blew the motor just beating on the car. (altima had way over 120,000) so no suprise.. Now here's the question? He was able to get another motor for like $1000 from some auto wrecker in the bronx. So now he has two motors one is toast and the other has like 50,000 or so miles. He's recently been playing with the idea of combining both motors to create a v12 to install in his kit car. I'll take the good with the bad flame or no flames.. Does this sound even remotely possible... Just want to hear what others think..

anything is possible with the right amount of money. I'm not sure how big his engine bay is or what his layout would be. . .there would be lots of clearance issues as well as an electrical nightmare like no other. . .
its always possible to combine two engines, drag racers used to do it a lot. whether or not theres even a reason to do what he wants is a whole nother thing. why doesnt he get a wrecked m5 v10 instead?
He's leaving a LOT out of the recipe...
He'll have to get the cranks welded together (front to back) and have them balanced/timed right to the point where it will fire in a smooth order. Then he'll need an ecu that can control 12 cylinders and can mess with the firing order, which will be impossible to get right... Unless he wants two cylinders firing per cycle.
Impossible

tell your "friend" that even if this was possible, since the engine was not forged as a single v12 block there would be no way to do this unless he had mad engineering skills and a forge at his disposal, plus a bunch of money. the integrity of the combined engine would be compromised along with trying to figure out timing and all of that precise measurement that is needed for an engine to work properly would be a complete nightmare. if he had all of that time and money available, just buy a v12 and call it a day.

I remember that a number of years back there was a green Ultima GTR competing in the Ultimate Street car challenge. It had some crazy BMW v12 (like in the old 8-series) all motor setup....
