I figured the same, hence the reason I didn't go with a much cheaper alternative like the Strup or DC if my goal was solely to remove the rubbing problem. Tomei's site has a few charts illustrating the differences in equal lengths and diameters, but a bit of skepticism is always existent since it's their own site. I have yet to see any independent benchmark comparing different equal length headers, so at this point it's really a hope on my side that Tomei's test were not exaggerated and that I would see some gains.

Additionally, I like to provide some helpful graphs and information to the community, but unfortunately my test case is quite uncommon and wouldn't help many as much as if I had stock headers to start with.

Yes – and pre cams & headers it dyno’d roughly the same on Tony’s (Motordyne) machine, which is calibrated the same.

Dyno comparisons on the internet are worthless – saying one dyno is inflated means nothing… and one car having a higher (or lower) number from a different dyno is not indicative that it is faster or slower than another.

I will say though, that I’m quite confident in this car… it will compete with most and beat many.

Trust me – its plenty fun beating MTs and seeing the frustration on their face when they get their @ss handed to them by an AT.

I’ve had plenty of MT cars in the past… this car was initially intended for long business commutes – AT made most sense for the initial purchase reason… If I had a dedicated track car it would be MT though.

275/255 I think... the info on the list is based on pre-post cams/headers... I've had many other dynos and mods over the years, but cams & headers were the most recent so that’s what I based the list on.

Without going full-build, the cost vs benefit of cams and headers aren’t there.... there are definitely gains but they are minimal and I wouldn’t have done cams without headers and visa versa... I wasn’t aware of anyone that had done it (cams and headers alone) on a G (or even Z for that matter) so I tried it. It's expensive and really not worth the minimal amount of gains. I have ideas for future - but right now I'm doing a bunch of body stuff...

I didn’t mention Zs, but I haven’t seen any at this track run faster... it's not uncommon for density altitude to be 3000' at this track... its 1300' elevation and often 70-100 degrees - there are only 1 or 2 track days with weather below 70 (and never below 60) and usually it ends up raining during those months... 14.00 is equal to mid to low 13s at some of the better tracks... if you know anyone that has run AAA speedway (previously Ca Speedway) in Fontana, they will tell you the same... and no, I know of no NA VQDE non revup (or even revup for that matter) that has run faster at this track... many HR don’t run that fast... I have beaten G37s and 07+ sedans (HR)... I've only seen a few Zs run there and they were low to mid 14s...

I’m not saying this car is unbeatable - but it holds its own and beats many...

I don't know if the correction is that great to be honest. Most of the times the DA is 1500-2000 here in MD during the months of May-Sept and it hasn't stopped me or many others from only losing .2-.3 at most. I ran a 13.4 (at 268whp) at 78 degrees over 60% humidity at a track nearly 600ft in elevation. Still your car has the power to be a low-mid 13 second car, but a nearly 1 sec correction is a bit much.

I’ve had several people that know the car tell me this… honestly I wouldn’t think it’s a mid 13 car because I’m used to running really sh!tty tracks and mid 13s to me are cars way faster than most on this forum… I need to get the car to Famosa in Bakersfield – I hear that’s a much better track and will probably net ETs that most people can relate to… I’m usually on g35driver and a few people over there have suggested the same… here is a recent post that just happens to corroborate what we are talking about:

http://g35driver.com/forums/4303037-post116.html

Anyway – this thread isn’t about racing or even dyno numbers… its about listing mods and gains made. So lets get it back on topic.
