BC dosen't have the cams cause they haven't had a chance to copy JWT cams... JWT has had HR cams for a long time... problem is that the stock cams are real good... minimal gains from cams

I'm sure they work fine with their own springs but I imagine you're more interested in how well they work (power) in general. What I thought was odd is on Tomei's website they have the 272's with a higher output. I can only assume this is due to other tuning factors such as lower than needed rev limit.

Yes the Tomei springs will work perfectly with the 280 cams.
For the VHR, there are lots of reasons why power peaks so high. It's the same on a DE too...just extrapolated a bit. These engines in general are not low rpm power makers by any means. The cams are a component, but not the only one. There are surely gains to be had, as I will be able to show you soon (on a 3.5HR)

Hey Guys,
The cam test article has gone to print with Modified, so it will be released soon! I'll post the article up here once it's done already.
I do have some bad news for all of you however, that I discovered during the cam test.
The series we raced in - required the Nismo Street Cams. It appears however, as though the cams that were ACTUALLY being used were not - at all - Nismo street cams. So you'll find the results from the test do not match the power numbers we were making by about 15whp. The cams actually being used were closer to something like a JWT C8. They had much larger duration, but tiny lift as they had to work with the stock valve springs.
Sorry to get you all excited and to advertise that we were using the Nismo R-Tune cams - we really believed we were!!!
