Question vq35de and vq35hr block comparison

ive done some searching and maybe i just need to look even harder but i was wondering. i have an hr engine that was using oil but i have a DE engine in my car. i want to know if i can use the DE heads, front cover, oil pan, etc on the hr block. this way i can put the bottom end together and swap the parts over whenever i have the time to pull the DE out of my car. i dont want to have to buy an ecu and wiring harness. basically is the HR bare block the same as the DE bare block and if not what are the differences.

I am not the expert on something like this, but be prepared for some constructive criticism.

Completely different blocks. Even the dimensions. Rods crank pistons. All of it.

Short answer, no.

I was looking around for parts and came across a for sale ad on the HR block. Seems like this guy has experience with DE heads on a hr block so I emailed him and here's what he said:

It will bolt up to the DE head jsut like the 35HR. However, you will need a 35HR or 37HR front cover which you'll need if you decided to do a HR conversion anyways. You will have to cut the lower cover and mate it with the top of the DE over. It is has the same mounting as a DE so no custom mount require.

Do a search!

This very topic has been discussed not even three weeks ago...

There are more threads that have discussed this in the past.

Do you have to change the tranny if using a HR block?
I see the starter and crank angle sensor is relocated..and the shape looks different..
