Default Sikky kit Ls2 Swap

Now that sikky has a ls2 swap kit for the z and you can just bolt a ls2 right in. How much do you think the whole job would cost to have done at a shop? My car has high mileage and i was considering a NA rebuild for 4900. but i would rather drop a reliable ls2 in there and be trouble free making 400whp. Sorry for the grammar lol. Also anyone who done the swap how hard is it doing basic maintenance and servicing is it a night mare because of reduced space?

Default well..

from waht ive read the engine is about the same dimension... thats why the swap is avail.
Its about 200 lbs heavier tho.. something good to know.
Looks like the kit is around 2500, and there is a vast amount of wiring to be done to allow ac and the rest of the interior functions of your car to work.. stay tuned, use the search and subscribe to the threads.. there are a few people here doing this swap right now.

Also intense motorsports sells the parts.. i saw some Sikky boxes there this week.. looked like some good stuff.
They can give you an honest idea on what labor would entail... then you can bring that to your local guys and get it done.

Im sure youll get many more complete answers, but still..

And as for maintenance? Appears straightfoward.. its a Chevy engine, pretty simple stuff. Just odnt plan on passing an emissions test if you have them where you live.

Thnx alot very good info. I def did search but i couldn't find anyone who was using the sikky kit all the threads were from a long time ago or with the hanson kit. Def going to give intense a call to find out about labor. happy to hear the engine is the same dimension i was really concerned about that. i hear you can send your harness to sikky and for 300 they make it plug and play. And using a aftermarket tach will make it way easier which i don't mind.

for 300 bucks thats a steal, but im sure thats teh engine bay hanress. you still ahve the stuff that feeds your speedo tach and HVAC controls etc. Im not sure what EMS people are using, but agin, the guys in those threads above will be good to add as friends if youre serious about the build.

i can tell u its a hell of alot more than to just rebuild the motor u have if u think they are gonna be anywhere close to each other...its a good 15k done my guess, sounds like u wouldnt be doing any of this yourself so that doesnt help either..

The biggest expense with this swap is the motor and trans. If you can buy the motor and trans for cheaper your swap will be cheaper. The other variables to the ls2 swap are very minute compared to the vast differences in LS2/t56 prices on the market.

I would do more searching on sites like ls1tech so that you can gain a better understanding of the swap. There are 3-4 members over at that site that have LS swaps running with build threads as well. Not to many people here know what the particular details are of the swap.
