follow the FSM and lube and torque everthing properly, all there really is to it! I was in your same shoes going into my first engine like this, but I am very happy I did it, I am so much more confident about cars and I had 1 problem and it was so minor, but a pain to fix. I say go for it!

I bought a building guide and read the FSM. I just don't want to have any issues and prefer to pay to have it done right. If I had any friends that had experience here I'd do it but all of my mechanically gifted friends are in L.A.

Thanks

I did not think that. I agree with you, I just don't want a ruined build.

RIGHT! I want to see if that stroker kit makes more power or if it was a big waste of money!!!

You are not gonna get great top end gains but the torque will no doubt be much better. I'm awaiting to see your results as well to see how different your motor behaves compares to mine since your setup will favor better piston speeds. Good luck as usual.

Well, I decided to clean the crap out of the car since it really is pretty much done and take some pictures and here they are

in those last 2, you can see where I had the upper plenum drilled out and had plates welded in to fill where the screws used to go, alittle more volume and 2 of them had cracks in them

Thank you! It is kinda a symbol for me. Painted by me, I wish I had the time and patients to smooth it all out and really do a good job and airbrush it, but I just don't haha

did u dyno today? I was actually thinking of changing my intake to Fujita as well bc of the 3" tubing and build myself a box kinda like the stillen or K&N. Only thing i would say change is your exhaust. Not bc its a knock off but bc there is better exhaust options that have higher gains. Sorry if i missed but what Test pipes are you running?

No I did not, the tuner called in sick, I am on stand by for when he gets better. The inner diameter of the Fujita is 2 7/8th not 3, but better than 2.75 like most. I also like that it has a bung for the MAF rather than having to use a stock maf housing. I am not sure if it was the intake or me ripping apart my intake manifold, but it has been running ALOT BETTER!!!!

I really doubt that a 2.25 in DUAL exhaust is being limited yet. I doubt my Exhaust will limit me in the future with a Supercharger wither. I am not running test pipes at all, I am running OBX long tube headers (which have a 2.5 ID).

It feels much faster than it did after my last dyno, and the power does not drop at all, I truly believe that I have power past 7k rpms. I am really hoping with the minor changes I have made, probably 3k miles on the motor (motor is pretty much fully broke in) I will break 300hp!! Hope for the best guys

i didnt mean it as in your limited to HP but you dont have an exhaust with big proven gains over others. Ill be buying MR or OBX longtubes next month. How do u like them? Do u have a vid of your current set up? Very interested. After my header buy ill be buying a new intake then one LAST final tune. Then either keep it as is upgrade suspension and be done. However at 97k miles im kinda scetch about the longevity. SO maybe Ls1/2 build or tahoe and a boat lol. SOrry for the off topic. Ignore that haha

Sorry the tuner flaked. I am sure you are anxious to get it done.

Good luck!

I like the HKS (knock off) I think it sounds great personally, lol it didn't before the engine build, but after I am not sure if it was cams or higher compression, but it is throatier and just sounds mean, I have some idle video's that are not the best I will post on here. An exhaust is an exhaust, as long as the piping is mandrel and it has decent mufflers with the right size piping to make it happen, rock out! I could probably run a 2.5in Y to 3 inch to a 3 inch single exhaust, but I personally don't like how they sound and I doubt there would be much of an HP gain

Good luck!
anxious doesn't explain how I feel! I want to fix this little problems in the tune and push out my powerband harder and see what else it has, I am soooo curious what the future holds for numbers, BUT I will be dyno'n in 100+ degree heat, not very exciting, I know...

I am taking a road trip to Missouri in the car next week, and I am excited how it does on that, I figure the car is plenty broke in and running well enough to do it. I want to see the gas mileage it gets when I am just sitting back letting the cruise control do the work.
