You do need to install the motor first! stock compression ratio of a 350z is 10.3:1, 11:1 is not that much more, and people boost on that ALOT! Yes they blow motors, but we have forged and strengthened internals and everything is balanced nicely!
I am personally planning on a Vortech V3 Tuner kit with a walbro 255lph and like 600cc injectors running the 3.33 pulley, maybe a 3.13 but I think I will have PLENTY of power with a 3.33. Another thing about a supercharger is, that the more free flowing your motor is, the EASIER it is on the motor. This is what I understand from my research before I go on and someone blasts me... lets say a stock motor no mods 350z get a vortech stock set up supercharger. lets say it makes 8-9 psi, on the SAME supercharger set up, free flowing exhaust, cams and anything to help it breathe better, the supercharger might only make 6 psi, BUT your HP numbers will be much higher. SO, on my set up, I might only have like 7 psi from a supercharger, and with everything forged, I am very unafraid of a supercharger that is set up right and tuned well. On a side note, there are alotta mustang guys that run higher compression like us and run a supercharger on purpose. Higher compression boosted will always make better numbers but you begin to push to that danger threshold easier. You need to find that happy medium which I think I am not going to push the limits of my motor with a supercharger. Just my 2 cents on the matter

I got my car for $12.5k... lol just for fun, I wanna ball park numbers here
12,500 350z
$8,000 (ball park) engine build and cd009 tranny
$1,000 misc supporting engine mods
$800 JWT clutch/flywheel
$2200 Suspension
$1200 Wheels and tires
$1850 Wilwood brakes
$1300 misc exterior mods
$700 audio
$29,550 (approx) my total investment including the car... That is kinda depressing, haha.
After an upgraded radiator, oil cooler and all the stuff to supercharge it, I will be climbing to $40k!

V3 is definitely a very capable and attractive compressor, but I promise you that what's in the work now will be a little more expensive but very promising if you plan to run only 9-10psi like I do. When things are a little more concrete, i'll be sure to let you guys know on the details. It wont' be dissapointing (i hope, haha).
