mgrotel, yes...finally! lol i'll get another vid prolly tomorrow.
fixxxer, yeah....id just recommend everything be double and triple-checked with the motor when putting it all together, and just put all new timing components on. you can reuse the vtc sprockets if you KNOW they didnt make any noise. i didnt know with this motor since it was a OC longblock....had i used the motor that came out of my car, i wouldnt have had any timing component issues like i had with this motor. and yes, i might do the comparison between my AFE stage2 and the samco/revup/k&n setup. i wish i had a stillen airbox to use but i dont wanna buy one to use and not end up using lol but i might do it sometime within the next 2 weeks.
classy, yes....somewhat similar. put some spacers on those rollers and your car will look on spot bro! glad you got everything figured out tho....my bet with the driveability issue is definitely in your tune!
zazz, nope. no boggy feeling. my tuner did a rather good job. i might try to make a 3" afm housing and modify a stock airbox to house a 3" velocity stack and get it retuned but we shall see. atleast i'll be able to tell if my current afe intake or the samco/revup/k&n will do me better for the time being once i dyno them out.

i didnt drive it today cuz i drove my truck to work, but yesterday it didnt make any noise the entire day. we shall see tomorrow what it does....i dont feel like getting up to start it up.

I was looking for tensioners cheaper and found this thread. Post 7 refers to a tsb.

yeah, that is referring to the Intake VTC sprockets. those are the only things i havent replaced now. lol everything and i mean everything else timing related is brand new OEM parts!

well i finally drove her today and she did make a lil noise, but its nothing like it was with the bad tensioner. im guessing in one of the intake sprockets, but guess what? i aint fixin it lol

well, i havent started it up in like 2-3 days so i wouldnt doubt if it did make noise. one day in the mornin it didnt make noise, the next day it did. then it doesnt make any noise the rest of the day. oh well, fuggit biatch!
the motor supposedly came out of a 05 coupe 5at with like 15k miles. the only thing original in this motor is the crank and timing gears lol.

Mine are silent & have 25k (and rising) I am dropping the motor off at the machine shop early next week. It will be nice to move forward.
Here is the weirdest part. The current motor has not used ANY freaking oil in over 1400 miles. It was using about 1/4 quart every 100!

I hate this! I saw 1000 people I woulda raced when my car was down for the motor work, then I get it running, but I am limping it for break in, and still 1000 people. Now that I can race it, no people... I am tempted to go to the drag strip next friday just to beat people, lol

no, not surprised once he told me it was doin 380 to the wheels lol.
i dont think it would have been as bad if we didnt jump in 3rd cuz he jumped me almost every time. he just slowly pulled on me tho. nothing bad, but slowly creeped away lol. then again, we never got to do a full run as we would stop once we hit like 70-80. last run, we stopped and slowed down...then came a trooper pooper. lol lucky
