I just had some stock HR heads ported. As you may remember I had the DE and ported DE heads also flowed a year or so ago, so this gives us good data to compare to:

Thats awesome info Sasha, good to see youre still doing work I take it your ported HR heads are gonna go on your racecar which you will then dyno and show us if it made power ? if so i cant wait lol

His meaning Sasha? What shop is this? I've heard the name many times, but due to my many political postings, & of course the other daily routine of living life, leaves me with very little time to investigate or even read entire posts(not the right thing to do)

I'll look/read anything that SHOWS me a few H.P./increase of performance for an HR Z.

Do something similar? Porting exhaust to match headers/gaskets? I'm open to everything/anything.

Sorry guys, I didn't have the HR heads ported - I meant to write that I had them flow tested.

I will run the engine stock and see the power it will make with ITBs, big cams and proper headers. Then I will build the engine, and port the heads.

That's some good info, Sash. Wish I would have done a before and after of the port work on my HR. Really seems to help but I don't have any numbers to back it up.

I dont know for sure but I was told No , the HR head would not match with the DE block.

I know the head gaskets match so they will bolt to the block. Timing cover, cams, etc etc

I have been told it IS possible to mount HR heads on the DE block.

I have not tried it myself however. You would need to machine the HR heads for the cam triggers in the rear, and the valve covers / intake manifold of course is all different.

Not sure if the exhaust ports are in the same relative position or not.

09+ Maxima is an HR head on a DE block, but it is a front wheel drive set up... there is a way to do it on a rear drive :wink:. I'm not going to tell anyone, it is kind of proprietary info
