Cool RU/Msc 350z NA build :)

Hey everyone

Here is my build.
1. Nissan 350z VQ35DE (mileage of engine around 15-20k miles), AT, R19 (rays 370z), 2003-2004 year.
2. Kelford 189-A camshaft Nissan VQ35 Gen1 (350Z) 264 Duration, 10.75mm.
3. Custom exhaust manifold.
4. Test-pipes Invidia.

Today i was on dyno and everyone was kinda suprised

Here is my graphic.

350z

So we got almost 240 whp on 3rd gear on AT, thats not bad as i know
I'm focusing on 280 whp.

I would be glad if you tell whats better to replace next to increase whp/trq.

P.S. sry for my english

3rd gear pull? Shouldn't it be 4th for AT? I think that's why your TQ number is in the 300s. There's no way your TQ should be 300 and your HP be 250 on a NA build.

That is weird that your hp is so low and torque over 300.

That's kind of depressing.
I have a de 5at as well with over 100k and stock cams and I made 1 more hp than you made. And had more constant power under the curve. Maybe its the elevation difference though...

Nope, all makes sense now. Didn't see the nm on the side of the graph.

The only think I would suggest is finishing the exhaust. Even though you've got a custom manifold and TPs, finishing out with good flowing exhaust system will be able to bring your TQ up a little. And that's a pretty decent TQ number for AT. So far I haven't really seen anyone over 245-250 TQ with AT on here with full bolt ons.

Also, what intake mods do you have besides cams? You'need to make sure you're supplying enough air in to take full advantage of the cams as well.

Look into those mods, and you should definitely be close to the 280 mark. I think once you allow more air in, and have it exist faster you'll see the cams really open the power up.

Like someone else mentioned, finishing the exhaust will help and also you're going to want a set of headers to fully utilize the potential of the cams. Throw in a MD spacer and a tune and you should be right at 280ish whp. I'm in the middle of my NA build also and I'm expecting ~290-300whp on a 5AT, hoping for >300whp but we'll see. Good luck.

I think you should get a plenum spacer and finish the exhaust, you should be -/+ 270 at least with the mods you have and with those included, I'm kind of surprised you didn't make more power with what you have but I think its because of no intake mods other than the cams.

Is anyone actually using ITBs? I saw a few threads on those awhile back. You might want to look into those.

ITBs are for hardcore NA track cars. ITBs are way too expensive to install and have to setup alternate engine management for DD.

I never said they were cheap. He is wanting an NA build. Those will definitely help him get the power he wants. I doubt he will see another 40whp from intake mods. A catback will gain him some but not enough.

This build is without any TUNE. In future in want uprev Tuner pack (osiris).

I got stock 03 intake box
I can't choose good intake for N/A.
Many people say that its best to leave stock box. Cause CAI can give u decrease of hp/trq.
Any advices on good intake mod?

I wanted to buy just MD spacer 5/16.

For the intake a lot of people just get the jwt pop charger, its fairly cheap and gives more flow. But you should check z1 motorsports, they have a few intakes (short ram) that you could benefit from. I essentially have a z tube with a filter that I found that I like the best.
I also have the z1 spacer, it doesn't matter much on the brand you buy, it really just depends on if its a DD or if your tracking it, if your tracking it I'd go with the ISO thermal spacer.

If you want to keep factory box, I would suggest getting the 06 rev-up box, and try to find a silicone intake tube or look at the Z1 z-tube. And I will forever recommend 3" MAF housing, but i don't know if it would be available since I got mine from GTM...

Just for clarification, when you custom exhaust manifold, which part are you referring to? I assumed you meant you had headers. And 5/16 spacer would really help too. Again, since you've got cams you could probably bump it up to 1/2" spacer, but you would lose your strut bar.

Or you'll have to get a hood that will clear it.

I would say I still have the 06 air box but I can't find it so I'm pretty sure I sold it. But if your interested and I do find it ill let you know.
